But everyone forgets that majority nerfs come from certain builds being too powerful in pve. Sometimes, it's not even because it's op, but simply because they felt like doing it. LMG nerf anyone? Or how about the change to shotguns that was brought about because of the overwhelming superiority of rapid fire frames/trench barrel. You're delusional if you think that Bungie nerfs because of pvp. They look at data and what kind of builds that streamers use, because min/maxxing streamers are who find these super op builds and make them widely known to everyone else. I don't like Destiny streamers, but this isn't me bashing them either. Since D1, guides to activities and pvp have made the game one in which a single meta outshines all other builds. It's not the people who make these guides fault, after all, they're just pointing the flashlight.

Изменено (Raevenent): 6/27/2019 5:53:51 AMWell, yes and no. Depends on what nerf we're talking about, some of the stuff you listed got nerfed because they were game breaking and had Bungie like "Yeah no, we don't want you breaking encounters or anything in game" so I can't blame them there. iKELOS Shotgun nerf needed to happen, in no way shape or form should a special shotgun rival the same amount of damage as a heavy weapon, and it's still a solid weapon regardless of the nerfs cause it's the only special energy weapon if I'm not mistaken that can roll trench barrel and that alone is worth the slot, still haven't found anything to replace it either. It's either I'm running double primary being Outbreak/Chattering Bone/Blast Furnace/Austringer with Recluse or whatever legendary kinetic I've said and iKELOS, or my Black Hammer like Beloved. Remember Nova Warp? I sure do, like it was yesterday, I was royally livid that day, that shit got nerfed cause of PvP, and how harsh it was, made it pretty useless and unfun to run in PvE. Don't get me wrong, it had it coming, I'm a Warlock main let's get that out of the way before you start jumping the "OH EM GEE HUNTER MAIN LAWL" or "TITAN CRY BABY REEEE" or whatever silly nonsense you sputter out, miss me with that ignorant shit, I like all 3, play all 3 equally, but I'm a Warlock main for life. The nerf for Nova Warp was way to harsh, and I'm still going to argue that Nova Warp right now, is what it SHOULD have been when it got it's nerf. Is it viable in PvE? Depends on what activity. PvP? Not as stupid before it got nerfed, but it can be strong, and that's ok, it's a super, they're meant to be strong. Raids? You're joking right? Slova, Dawnblade bottom tree, or Angry Sith lord top tree is what you should be running if you want to be offensive, other than that, you should be on Well. But for general gameplay and dicking around? Yes, it's fun, while it was silly in PvP, that wasn't the reason I picked it first, when Forsaken was new, I picked it cause that was the one that stood out compared to Chaos, and Well, I knew Well would be important for raids, so I knew that was important to get early as possible.

Actually people are just assholes and like to abuse whatever is powerful.

I hope they nerf the ever living $hit out of Recluse so I can never play comp again.

You are kind of missing some of the main issues at hand. Yes some nerfs do come about because of them being considered to strong in PvE (such as whisper), but for many of these they are less of a nerf and more of a general adjustment, such as reducing cluster bomb damage but increasing direct rocket damage, or decreasing rapid fire shotguns speed, while increasing shotgun damage in general. So in many cases they don't end up being just straight up nerfs. In contrast most nerfs that are done due to PvP are typically just a straight up reduction of something like damage, it is far less often that it is a decrease in one thing and an increase in another to try and rebalance the weapon type, but rather it is normally a reduction of a stat so as to balance an entire weapon type with other weapon types. Then there is the fact that for a while Bungie seems to have had a lot of trouble with separating changes made to PvP and PvE. There have been plenty of items that were nerfed with PvP in mind and yet the changes applied to PvE as well, this has especially been the case with exotic armour pieces. Now recently it has seemed like this practice has gotten better and Bungie has gotten better at separating the two, but it still isnt perfect by any means. Third there is the issue of vanilla D2, which had a lot of changes and a large number of which were directly pulled from constant complaints about things in PvP. Such as melee, grenade, and super abilities, all of these had their recharge slowed, and damage massively reduced, because they were one of the main sources of complaints for PvP players. In fact you can already see some posts today poping back up, complaining about 1 hit melees, supers going off to often and being to powerful, grenades being spammed. And the same can be said for many of the exotic weapon reductions. Exotic weapons in vanilla D2 were pretty bland to say the least, and guess what was right up there with abilities as the most complained about things in D1? That's right exotics weapons and armour. And surprise those same posts are all over the place once again, now that exotics are powerful again (and you could now lump pinnacle weapons in with them since they are basically exotics in everything except for the colour). People still very much remember these changes between D1 and D2 and they still very much remember why they came about, and so PvP is still very much getting heat from that, because we have seen what constant complaints from the PvP side can lead to.

Изменено (lCertifiedl): 6/26/2019 9:44:44 AMI'd strongly disagree, while PvE has effected a few PvE focussed builds and very specific weapons, PvP has ruined whole weapons types before. PvP over the period of the last 5 years has ruined tonnes of good weapons and armours, as the vast majority just can't deal with being beaten by someone better. Let's not even talk about the 2 primary system that came in due to PvP, which nearly destroyed the whole franchise.
But everyone forgets that majority nerfs come from certain builds being too powerful in pve.
Nobody forgot that; it's just not true.
-
I got shotguns nerfed because I was decimating them in PVE... :( We need balance separation between PVE and PVP.
-
Both pve and pvp have their imbalance which is why stuff gets nerfed. Whisper was apparently was broken on pve but you never saw anyone running the weapon on pvp.
-
Pve has affected pvp and pvp has affected pve all the same. The bottom line; sandboxes need to be separated.
-
Something's are nerfed cos of PvP, something's cos of pve.... Always been this way... And now we have added tangent that something's are nerfed cos of being OP on PC...

I once shot a small child with a Nerf gun in the face by accidentally pointing at it from a distance on purpose. it cried. so I through it a bottle of Johnson and Johnson no more tears. hit it right in the face. crying intensifies. Note to self : tear & tear look the same but are 2 different things. What I assumed to be a miraculous infant moaning suppressant turned out to be a special shampoo to prevent their fragile hear from breaking.
-
nah.. whisper was removed from the game because you had a stationary super big target that doesnt move and even my grandma could have hit the head with whisper, killing him in one round easily..
-
wait where am i?
-
Look at the nerfs to Gjallerhorn and Black Hammer back in D1. Those were strictly PvE nerfs.
-
Kinda like PvP mainly Trials saved Destiny 1 during the content droughts? PvP players always think Destiny is a PvP game with PvE added to it.
-
PVP has always sucked in Destiny so your post makes look like a dumbass.
-
Gr8 b8 m8. Nerfs have been done for both PvE and PvP reasons, but more often than not its been due to PvP. And you know what? So long as PvP adjustments dont impact PvE, I'm fine with that. Bungie seems to have managed to achieve that in D2, thankfully. D1 was an entirely different story.
-
Cant wait for the mountaintop, recluse, and wendigo nerfs 😁
-
Here comes the PvE mains to trash on PvP lol
-
Bungie's focus on PVP has always been the downfall of Destiny. PVP is trash and they know it. They have to incorporate PVP in Quest steps just to keep it populated.
-
PVP sucks. It's pinnacle weapons and milestones are the only reason the player base goes there.
-
I wonder what game you are talking about. It sure isn't destiny.
-
Ooorrr maybe. These are glitches and they're trying to cover them up as nerfs.
-
This tinfoil hat nonsense has to stop. The game is nerfed obviously for either pvp and PVE. Downvoted
-
You make a good point and it sucks because its either true or close to the truth
