Between working for the vanguard and working for the awoken, Shadow has found herself thoroughly exhausted.      She's only half listening as Cayde-6 drones on, hands linked behind her back.      "So I said to myself, I said: 'Cayde, you need a Guardian brave and crazy enough to set up a landing zone on the Dreadnaught.' Guess who's name was the first to mind?"      "...mine?"      He snaps his fingers at her. The yellow glow from his exo mouth lights up the dark.      "You got it!"      Her amber eyes glint mischievously. "Well. I'm not very brave, but I am crazy."      Cayde waves a hand dismissively. "Good enough."      Shadow jumps as a guardian strides up from behind her, patting her on the back roughly. He's a titan, of course.      "Good work, hunter."      His comrades nod to her.      She raises her chin proudly. "Thank you."      The small crowd of guardians were buzzing with the news of the landing zone on the dreadnaught.      "See? Everyone loves you!" Cayde gestures over dramatically, blue eyes ever so expressive.      Something about this statement makes Shadow uncomfortable.      "You've got far too much energy," she mutters distractedly, slowly walking past the guardians. She glances up at the stars blazing overhead. [i]Since when did I act older than Cayde?[/i]      "So would you if you'd been stuck in the tower for this long."      [i]Yes, I already feel like I have been. Please, let me go see Variks now![/i]      Shadow was well aware she has been feeding information to the Judgement scribe she shouldn't be. But she trusted that Variks wouldn't use the information against her or her city. Variks was loyal, after all, and her friend. She smiles to herself as Cayde rambles on.      Knowing Variks would have been expecting her by now, Shadow regains some of her energy. She quickly breaks away from the guardians, and Cayde, who continues speaking even as she's leaving.      She ignores him calling after her, cloak fluttering out behind her as she races to her ship.
