Now, time for the rematch between Malex, and Sevestapol.[/i] The Gunslinger and the Dredgen stood forty feet apart. Malex's brown wildwood cloak fluttered in the breeze. Sevestapol flexed her hand and took a breath. Sevestapol may be one of the most powerful warlock dredgens to ever live, but she was no Gunslinger. She went to draw, and Malex was faster. His Last Word slipped the holster like lightning and only spoke once. Sevestapol fell, dead. Malex sighed and turned to walk away, but Sevestapol wasn't done. The hole in her chest closed and her eyes opened, she had mastery of her darkness. She stood and drew her Thorn and Malfeasance, firing both as fast as she could. Malex rolled to evade and slid behind the camp's well. Sevestapol flew into the air and formed a colossal nova bomb. Malex looked up and saw his fate. Malex: Oh crap... Sevestapol released it and it landed with the whole power of the void. A ferocious explosion erupted and smoke filled the air. On top of the hill overlooking the camp, Rika was being healed by her ghost. She saw what just happened. Rika: MALEX!!! NO!!! She tried to get up but Elite-5 held her back. Tears streamed down her face as she wept for her dear friend. Rika: He's dead...I can't believe he's dead Elite-5: We'll get payback, but right now we need to move. We have to...wait, what's that? Rika turned and saw something that gave her hope. An orange glow began to radiate from the smoke. It grew brighter and brighter, to the point where it was almost blinding to look at. A flash of fire, and a beam of solar light burst through the smoke and hit Sevestapol in the shoulder, breaking her void feild and sending her falling to the ground. The smoke cleared and there stood Malex, solar flame ablaze, in his hand he held the mighty Golden Gun. Sevestapol looked at her shoulder, it was sizzling and smoking. It burned like the sun. Malex took of his helmet, now only his hood served as his headgear. Sevestapol stood up and sneered. Malex: Sorry bout that, but I wasn't to keen about getting blown up so I shot your nova bomb out of the sky. My bad. Sev: Okay, try these on for size. Sevestapol crushed four motes of darkness. Four primevals appeared, two captains, a phalanx, and a wizard. Malex backflips, evading the shots of the two captains. Who conveniently shoot each other on accident and die. Malex leaps into the air and frontflips. While he was facing downward he fanned of three Golden Gun shots into the phalanx, incinerating it. When he faced forward he fanned three more shots into the wizard, only her ashes hit the ground. Malex landed in a triumphant stance. Sevestapol screamed and drew her cannons, Malex drew his Last Word. The battle raged on for three, agonizing hours. Malex took a Thorn to his left shoulder and had to pull it out mid-battle. Both guardians cast their supers at once. Orange and purple explosions of light lit the night sky as if it were day. Back in the city, Zavala watched the horizon change orange and purple, believing it was the sunrise he leaned on his guardrail to enjoy the show. Back in Texas, Rika was not enjoying this. Every second felt like an eternity watching to see if Malex would die, or triumph. She felt something towards him, something she hadn't felt for any man before. She couldn't place it, but she new that he had become quite dear to her. Rika: Malex, please be careful... Sevestapol hurled nova after nova at our hero, causing mounds of earth to rise into the air. Malex jumped onto these mounds to reach Sevestapol's altitude. Sevestapol knew this was it. In this moment it would either be him, or her. She drew her Black Talon sword and swung, Malex pulled the trigger of his Golden Gun. The two landed, Malex winced in pain and fell to one knee, holding the gash in his side. Sevestapol knew she had won. She began laughing at him, celebrating his victory. But soon smoke reached her nose. She looked down at her gut, only to see a burning hole through her body. Now her expression was one of terror, now she knew, she had lost. Sev fell to the ground and Malex stood, Golden Gun in hand. Sev: Go ahead, finish it Malex raised his Golden Gun, the eased the hammer down. Malex: No. I won't give you that mercy. For as long as you live, for as long as you pursue the darkness, you have to live with that fact (he leans in closer) that I beat you. You have to live with the burning pain of my gun, forever. (turns and walks away) Sev: No (pulls a tiny nova bomb) NO!!! She send it into her chest, obliterating herself. Malex sighed, he knew that was coming. He let his super faze out and reloaded his Last Word, then holstered it. Rika, now fully healed, ran down the hill as fast as she could and leaped into his arms, wrapping him into a hug Rika: You did it! Malex: Ow, wounds, ow WOUNDS!!! Rika let go: (giggles) Oh, sorry She walked over and spat on Sev's ashes. She noticed her Malfeasance was intact, she took it. She wanted a trophy. Malex: You sure you want that? Rika: She caused me so much pain, I need to remember what happened here, for as long as live Malex: If you say so... Elite-5: Now that was one heck of a show. Let's get you back to the med-bay bro. [i]At the tower med-bay[/i] Rika was patching Malex up. His ghost could have healed him but she refused to let anyone near him. She wanted to do it. She gently placed a bandage on the gash on his side. Rika: You had me scared to death back there Malex: I did huh? Didn't know you cared Rika: (blushes) Well, I do... She leans in and kisses his cheek. Malex's face turned red, he looked like a tomato! Rika: I really do. (gets up) Okay peacemaker, you can do your thing now. She walked to the door and looked back at him. Rika: See you later, Gunslinger (leaves) Malex's ghost appeared, looking even more shocked than Malex. Peacemaker: What, just happened? Malex: (grins) I think I have a date [i]Back at the Camp[/i] Dredgen Slayer walked around the battlefield. He saw Rika take Sev's Malfeasance. He laughed, Slayer would have his revenge soon enough.
