In the latest TWAB, it's mentioned that the scrapper bounties will be depreciated in the next season due to them not being a great way to get materials, (presumably from my end) people don't do them and Bungie wants to try some thing new. However this isn't entirely true and giving us yet more uses for gunsmith mats will cause issues; I'm frequently running out of gunsmith mats already trying to obtain mods and decent gunsmith gun rolls. Further, due to crucible being the thing I mostly do on this game, I always end up with a fat stack of tokens, which I turn in to get guns which I don't need so I dismantle them in the hopes of getting raw cores and these scrapper bounties for more cores. This is how I get cores together with weekly spider bounties and the daily soft cap buy limit from him. I'm quite happy with the way this works even if these bounties are tedious and I only really do the crucible ones (they just end up getting completed whenever I play) and the lost sector ones (they're fast and easy). Removing these bounties will just make tokens, the main "reward" I get when I play this game after reaching max light besides good guns and armors, feel totally useless to me because I already have great gun rolls on the crucible guns and armor, which I'm sure at this point in the game's 2nd year I'm not alone in feeling this way. Tokens I get may as well be multiplied by 3 and called gunsmith materials at this point. Also, If these gunsmith bounties are like the spider ones, they will be time gated. This would reduce the amount of cores I could get. Unless the new bounties are daily and there are at least 3-5 available, I'm not going to be feeling too great. I understand the desire to keep cores scares for the sake of game integrity, but why can't we simply have more options? People who aren't doing the bounties already aren't going to start doing them and gunsmith bounties for cores sound like a more fun idea so can't we have both? Perhaps a good solution is being able to use crucible and vanguard tokens in place of any other kind of material for some things like turning them in to vendors for stuff, including the new gunsmith bounties. At a better rate of course seeing as we get far less tokens than gunsmith mats. Something like 1 token = 3 gunsmith mats sounds about right to me. TL;DR: Even more uses for gunsmith mats Is not great. Tokens are a good way to farm cores due to getting scrapper bounties. Scrapper bounties aren't time gated like the new bounties MIGHT be. More options for getting cores is good. Tokens feel useless at this point, can we use them instead of gunsmith/plantery materials for things?
