Since destiny 1 I have never understood why our character level is displayed to everyone in game instead of our light level. After the first few weeks or so of an expansion the majority of players have hit max level making it useless. By showing light level it would make it easier to check if guardians around us are an appropriate light level for certain activities like higher tier blind well. I feel having the light level above our characters would be a far more useful thing to have displayed, especially when certain gear can’t be equipped at lower levels anyway so light level gives an idea of character level too.
