So like everyone I wanted to grind for redrix's claymore but sadly I am on pc. During this time most everyone I played with chose to skip comp (probably the smart choice) or play a different game. Being a decent pvp player I attempted to solo queue my way through, I was able to make it 1400 on my own and thanks to random pickup group I have only made it to 1800, (sooo close yet so far away) During this time here are my insights mostly done after the change to comp match making and points change. After almost 600 games (54% wins) its super depressing, especially if you go on a win then loss then win then loss. Over and over. I don't believe a single win should be equal to a single loss. By having a perfect 50% win ratio you can not progress at all. If two loss were equal to a win I'd be a lot happier, but sadly its not. My next gripe is how the match making pool works. I don't believe regardless of how low the player pool is you should never verse the same team twice in a row, or 3 or 4 like I have experienced. If they opposing team destroys you, going back in to verse them again and again just feels like you give them free points than getting to enjoy a competitive game. And playing solo queue is just devastating. I wish there was a solo queue pool I could join so I don't feel like trash because I don't have friends. (I also dislike when my match made group of 3 directly quits leaving me a guaranteed loss. ) My next overall grip is macro skating titans, that allow anyone on a titan to cover any distance, allowing for easy flanks and easy escapes if your super doesn't have any range to it. Its always depressing to be a sentinel or an arc strider that just watches a macro titan skate away untouched because of an exploit. (i don't know bungies policies on macros, but games like overwatch ban it) I know bungie purposefully removed skating like it was in D1, I just wish there was an official comment on it. These are my general thoughts on the whole thing right now. Maybe I just need to be a better player. Im excited for radar to return (thats its own rant in itself but no need to go into that) For those that read this wall of text thanks for reading.
