I will never understand why people just want to flat out murder everything as quickly as possible with no challenge.
I cant think of anything more boring than lording it over the universe and turning up just to one shot everything in my path.
No enemy in this game is particularly difficult to a high level toon, only the dumb prestige modifiers that limit activity by reducing your effectiveness make this game difficult, nothing else.

Idk man, the Division has it nailed down well. You really do feel your power in that game, but the endgame content just a lot harder. Yet, you really know how strong your player is by what you do. I wish Destiny would do something like that. It's a balancing act.

You're looking at it the wrong way. The challenge would be getting to that high power level that lets you murder everything. The godlike feeling is the reward for going through all of the challenging content. No one wants a gimmie, but when I've played the content, I want to be more powerful each time I play through. That's what makes RPG so much fun. Over powering is one of the rewards for completing challenging gameplay. New challenges should simply come with new content and increased power level requirements and challenged that beg to be conquered.

Its two-fold. 1. Its fun to go back to old content and measure your power progress against enemies you had a hard time with back in the day. 2. It forces actual new content. Keeping old raids scaled to whatever level you are is lazy and destroys the whole purpose of actually leveling up.
-
1. Ok sounds fair enough. 2. Raids should be tough, romping through them lasts once maybe twice while overcoming a challenge has a longer interest for me. From experience easy raids are full after the first time.
-
Going back to content that is a year or two past my power level, i truly should be able to crush them. There will always be newer raids and raid lairs at higher power to feel challenged by. Raids fail to really be a challenge after your first few play-throughs, anyways.

The only time that is maybe fun is when the game knows that's what you will be doing and challenges you to do it quickly or something. Though in general yeah, having played with the infinite super bug I can confirm that it got boring quickly.
-
A horde mode that gets progressively harder maybe fun. Would still need to get harder though as 5 min of slaughtering waves would get old quick.
-
Yeah and I mean you might as well start off challenging to begin with, and there's not much point to it getting continually harder when there's a level cap. Well other than going back to it when they raise it I guess. The only thing that would help you then is if bungie designed the mission in some way to aid with that. Which is where things are pretty much at anyway, other than the activity itself lol.

that is whole damn point of leveling in a game . in the Witcher 3 a maxed out version of Geralt of a Rivera can destroy everything . it is why in rpg games max level is so much fun

Boring as hell to me.

I think people, at the least, want there to feel like their characters are more powerful. Just being able to deal normal damage once you get above them kind of sucks.
