At one point, a contract was drafted. There were some outlines of expectations, some tweaks made here & there, and a final copy made its debut. The decision making process up to the point where the applicable signatures were placed on that contract sealed their fate. If you can look at something, and know... Fully KNOW that it cannot be done in a reasonable amount of time, why sign it?
Microsoft gave Bungie an absolutely amazing environment to develop, and distribute games, and you know what... Their community was always fine. Their community wasn't super frustrated, and their community was satisfied more or less with some of the best games ever.
This.... This is what happens when you bite the hand that feeds you. This is what happens when you run away from Mom & Dads home at the age of 12 thinking you're a big man. You struggle to survive, and you get destroyed as a result. I cant -blam!-ING wait... I literally cannot wait for them to announce their fall DLC with all of this shiny bullshit they're going to try to throw to people that preorder the game. I cant wait to see the marketing schemes. I cant to see how -blam!-ING hard Bungie is going to have to try to bring us back.... And guess what. I don't care about you snowflakes that will buy whatever they throw your way. You're not who this is about... I'm talking to my brothers and sisters on these forums who have been spat on throughout the duration of this game.
Let's hold strong. Do not preorder shit. -blam!- these guys, and -blam!- this studio. I pray to God this studio gets shut down. I pray to god every developer that had to take orders from these "leaders" calling the shots lose their jobs, and get an even better career at a studio that respects their time, and quality of work and actually GIVES them the time to develop quality content. This is probably a nightmare for them.
As for the leaders... Luke Smith, etc... -blam!- these guys. Get fired, and never get hired anywhere ever again. Your names are stains on the gaming industry. You should all feel bad for charging people for this game on the legacy of a once amazing studio.
You shot yourself in the foot, Bungie. Activision successfully divided Bungie into BungieVision, and 343i. And won. The fall of -blam!-ing Rome.
Activision beat you, and you're -blam!-ED!
Update: Very happy I can stir the shit pot as much as I have. Very happy all the snowflake white knights are coming to this games defense. Keep it up. The more exposure this gets the more I win. I LOVE breathing in your anguish and tears... It gives me great strength.
Trolololololololololol

You used snowflake wrong

There is no sweeter ambrosia than the tears of Bungie groupies.

Say thanks to these top streamers that sucked bungie's balls for nerfs and now all of them are playing fortnite. poor bungie. do you thought that streamers really care about your game bungie? They only streamed destiny for subscriptions and nerfs, you allowed em to lag switch in your game. And now they r making money playing fortnite. Your ego killed you bungie. GG
-
Let me get this straight: you want to see people lose their jobs and all that comes from that including their families suffer, just cause you dont enjoy a video game as much as you thought you would? Wow, just wow. I really hope no one ever wishes that shit on you just cause they dont enjoy something you do as much as they thought they should.

Bump Beautiful post. 👌

I really hope D2 fails hard, and that they need to come out with a huge apologetic statement saying that they're going offline for a while and rebuilding (including rebuilding their dev team). This, to me, is the only long term solution. They can't keep piling on the band-aid fixes. At some point, the game is just going to bleed out.
-
I'd hate to see Bungie fall. But I guess it might maybe be a memorial for other studios, seeing that even a whale like Bungie can die if they piss on the consumers too long. Probably not though and they'd just continue making average experiences for too high a price.
-
Couple reasons why agree with your title. 1. D2 was an attempt to grab short term players, and thus, their cash by trying to appeal to the broadest possible players. It left the game shallow and devoid of any depth, meaning, or longevity. 2. This strategy also meant making a game that did no justice to those who stuck around with D1 expecting a sequel that would build upon the features of its predecessor. Bungie's hubris lead them to believe that returning D1 players would be happy with whatever was put in front of them. It was more content which they've been clamoring for, why wouldn't they be excited to play? These two strategies have started a downward spiral of disaster. It's what happens when you don't know who you're target audience is, turn your back on loyal customers, and put out a product inferior to it's predecessor.

I’m confused, aren’t we all the same community? You say this is for my brothers and sister that had their face spat on by Bungie, but didn’t we all? No matter if we buy DLC or not?¿

Rough day flipping burgers?

YES MY COMRADE

Gjallarhorn is back again. DLC pre order exclusive.

Изменено (CharacterZ3RO): 1/21/2018 4:42:59 PMTo be fair bungie has been -blam!-ing us since Halo 2. Remember the announcement demo of Halo 2 vs the real game? Lol it was destiny before destiny was destiny. Glad to see they are finally getting their just desserts. PS -blam!- Luke Smith. How does he even still work there?!
-
"We want our creative freedom." *Signs contract with Activision* Lol wat
-
This is by far... The dumbest community, in the entire gaming history. 😂 Shitiest company award for 2017-2018. 💩💩💩
-
The idea of some sky daddy sitting at a desk listening to, and acting on, prayers related to video games puts a smile on my face.

Another jilted lover writing a "dear john" letter. Some noob is already banging your game!😉

Read the title, came here to mute. Cheers.

While you have a couple of valid points, hoping Luke Smith gets fired for example, I can't help but think you must be new here. I've been around since early Halo 2. Bungie has always felt a sense of entitlement towards our money and a definite back-handed contempt for the players in general. Not that they don't say and probably believe that they "care". But, when it comes down to what we want versus what they want to give us, take a guess at which one always wins. When they made all of the massive changes to D1 just a few months prior to its launch, I doubt they really cared that their studio, through the voice of then main writer Joseph Staten, promised us something completely different than what we received. When we brought it up, they lied straight to our faces and have never apologized for the deception. Microsoft was just as demanding, all distributing studios are. It was Microsoft that created 343 Studios, not Activision. Bungie went independent first THEN sold out to Activision when it realized it couldn't spend money fast enough. Bungie has always believed that the player is irrelevant to the creative process, a lot of us are just getting fed up with the attitude they've always had now coupled with an inability to design a story that has any form or structure, no end-game, no goals. This is their game and as far as they're concerned, we're supposed to just buy whatever they throw at us and to our eternal shame, that's exactly what we've been doing. As to your other valid point, I agree that none of us should pre-order a damn thing. We should sit back and wait to see what the shills say about it after it launches and then give it a few days to see how disappointing it turns out to be.
-
This sounds like the Roy Moore thing where he sent out a faked voice message pretending to be from the Washington Post offering compensation for anyone who falsely accuses Moore of grape juice. Either way... this post will make anyone who protests the game look bad. OP, your making the community look bad. Stop making the community look bad.
-
They deserve all the criticism and hate they get. Just like in D1, they continue to ruin this game one nerf patch at a time. The self destructive behavior defies logic.
-
Loud complaints, all-caps retort, insults to your ancestry, proclaimed faith in the product, uncaring dismissal.
-
I think they deserve a kick in the genitalia from every one of their 2 million plus players that played this game on release.
-
Unfortunately for me I bought the pre order with both dlc's. I ALMOST cancelled but my son in law talked me out of it. Well dlc or not, I'm done with Bungie and the Destiny series. Game has already been deleted from my console. I'll be playing Diablo 3 and maybe some fortenite until Anthem drops. Wether or not it has micro transactions, I'll be buying and playing the shit out of that game. At least EA is up front about their greed and also, they have made great games in the past and I'm willing to give them my $ vs giving Bungie anything else. EA hasn't personally screwed me over so, I'm willing to give them a go. I'm riding this hype train all the way to Anthemville. Toot toot!
-
Imagine the hundreds of people trying to put food on their table and pay their mortgage not being able to do that because some whiny internet trolls think that $59.99 entitles them to ruin their lives because they didn't get everything they wanted in a game. This isn't about you. It's about you and you and you and you. Get lives.
-
I personally don’t like a lot of the decisions they made and I agree with you on some things you mentioned. Bungie has certainly lost the privilege of my pre-order and any benefit of the doubt I’d ever give them. But I see absolutely no reason to wish any ill on them. Over a video game?! I’m a hardcore Destiny player with over 2500hrs on D1 and hell I’ve got hundreds in D2 despite the fact I’m not feeling it. I’m invested.......but not to the point where I want to destroy other peoples lives over it. There’s a line. I simply will not pre-order D3 and likely only buy it when it’s at a reduced price or not at all.
