After update and hard restart Destiny 2 not launching

I DL'd the update and when i try to launch i get the following error " Do you own this game or app? If you have a game disc insert it now if you bought it this online makde sure you're signed in to the Xbox live. If you dont have rights for playing it you'll need to get it at the store (0x803f8001)" I purchased the game online and I am signed in to the only Xbox live account i have. When i go the store it only has a play option and when i launch it from there it gives the same error. My Xbox live account is paid up to date I have done 3 hard restarts and signed in and out of xbox live several times getting the error everytime Thanks *edit - using the main game app icon did not work but i went through recently downloaded and somehow that icon worked
