PVP: Restricted to what comes up in the playlist, no free choice.
Story missions: Restricted to 3 story meditations a week.
Patrols: Restricted to the immediate area you pick up a patrol in.
Strikes: Restricted to what strike comes up in the playlist, no free choice.
Character skills: Limited to what's in the two choices of skill trees.
Shaders: Limited to what you get from vendors who never give you enough even for 1 full equipment set.
Lost Sectors: Limited in that they are always the same exact spawns, no randomization whatsoever.
This game was supposed to be "bigger, more open, with more exploration," but it seems you've gone quite the opposite. These are all generalized examples that in more specific terms have in one way or another pissed off the playerbase somehow according to recent posts with no reason for them whatsoever. Even something as simple as not having strikes placed on the map makes them feel so detached from the game environment and uninteresting.
Don't get me wrong,. I'm actually enjoying the game and having fun but I don't see it having the staying power Destiny 1 did personally if these sort of restrictions and limitations aren't addressed in the near future. Game will probably end up taking up space on my HD until the expansion is released.

"If it ain't broke, fix it and find a way to make players give us money for it" -Bungivision "I want to run the Raid, Trials, or go back to Titan to get more of its Shader" -No Destiny 2 player ever

I loved Destiny 1 and I was expecting a great, open and gigantic game but they took away almost all of the good things that were in Destiny 1. Great-not at all Open-kinda Gigantic-not at all

First let me begin by explain who I am. I religiously played D1, I have 2000 hours invested, I have...sorry had a gimmore score of over 5400, I have beaten hundreds of raid boss and brought many other players to the endgame. I am a clan founder. I do not judge lightly and I do not rant. I'm a professional and a leader in my industry. I'm not kid with a grudge. These are my opinions and the opinion of many players I've spoken with and many I play with. These are not made up outspoken things. Theses are real concerns and if you don't buy it. Complete your so call millstones and tell me what you spend your time doing. Tell me what your awesome piece of gear or weapon your grinding for. Tell me what was your moment to triumph was this week and what awesome weapon did you get for it? Bungie has broken its promises and fooled many of us to invest hard earned money into a new game which feels worse the D1 vanilla. Bungie fails to realize that we the hardcore player, we the community is whats keeping their game alive and has kept their game alive during the hard times. Not the 90% the 10%. The 90% plays to chase what the 10% has and since everyone has everything and all gear is the same its destroying the very fundamentals of what DESTINY IS ABOUT....THE Chase....The Triumph...The Glory...The Bond between players when the overcome the obstacles and get or do not get what they wanted and they do it all over again....together (THIS DOES NOT EXSIST IN THIS DESTINY 2) The game has no magic, no mystery and no hunt. Here's whats missing. All gear is created equal. No matter what gear you get its the same. There are no real GEAR perks, with ammo increases, super energy on grenade kills (etc), no raid perks from raid gear, no raid weapon perks from raid weapons. There are no white whale weapons or gear to chase and exotic gear is not really exotic (its common). THE GAME NAME SHOULD BE CHANGED TO "PUBLIC EVENTS" There is no endgame. Daily heroic missions, quests, dead ghosts(or something that is similar), gimmore score (or something similar), hidden quest or missions, bounties (daily, weekly, monthly). Theres only a few game achievements. All the things that created urgency, mystery and magic has been removed in order to not hurt the common players feelings (its a nerfed world). And a world that is nerfed is a world without consequences (a world without meaning). Its nothing more then a glorified "Call of duty". And if you don't think so.....give a week or 2. There is no character customization. You can't even customize your super to your play style. Its a sad thing when someone tears up a winning ticket in hopes the will win bigger with the next one. Half the exotic gear in Destiny 2 is Destiny 1's exotic gear just less impressive. Just like the supers and subclasses (less impressive). The whole game is LESS IMPRESSIVE. Nothing to work towards, nothing to earn, nothing gain, no reputation....nothing. Its a long winded campaign with a crappy story. And game a 10 year old can play and end up where hardcore players end up....at the end of nothing with everything in hand and nothing to do. Explain yourself.... Is this the end of Destiny's community. The community that gave us parody videos and songs. The community that got together and raised money for a children hospital. It could be.... I've seen thousands of these concerns and I haven't seen a single response from bungie. I ask you this bungie....How could you do this to us? Your loyal fans base. The same people that are giving you jobs and loyally follow your game because you listened to us AND GAVE US WHAT WE CRAVED....LOOT, CONTENT, OBSTACLES AND TRIUMPH . NOT A BLAND BEIGE WORLD WITH NOT MEANING AND NO EXPECTATIONS. And now you turned a deaf ear and for what....money. PLEASE TELL ME. Everyone I've played with for years is pissed and I've defended you long enough. So why did you destroy the game we love?????
-
The problem is they made a sequel to vanilla destiny. Not a sequel to everything they learnt over the last 3 years.
-
The storytelling is so much better and so much more immersive but I am LIVID about the shaders. That's my only complaint so far.
-
It's Destiny simplified. Pc players will destroy this game

I agree with you OP and one of my biggest problems is the class customization or more accurately, "we know how you should play your subclass, leave the thinking to us." Did my IQ drop 75 points when I booted D2 up all of a sudden? I can make choices fine thank you. I don't know why we get multiple same legendaries when they are identical beyond LL. It makes legendary engrams feel 'meh' when there's no anticipation to a great roll. I've seen people use the logic of 'well D2 is about the journey, not the destination. And D2 is lots of fun.' Well my reply is if I'm going to Disneyland, had a good trip but I find out Disneyland was blown up when I got there, then no, the journey was a effen waste and *not* fun. My goal, isn't the journey. Destiny is a *loot* shooter, what new loot am I getting after I've found it already?
-
All restricted so when they "un-restrict" them, everyone will be grateful for the "new" content.
-
Don't forget about static armor rolls removing just about all the customization when it comes to armor. Subclasses too.
-
I honestly think that luke smith had 10 people working on d2. Multiple times it was stated that they were working on d2 for 3 years so that means they were working on it during D1 around rise of iron. This is the clear result of split resources. I mean reskinned weapons??? Its a brand new game and you had 3 years just come up with a new design!!!!
-
I remember grinding for high intellect/auto reload gloves in D1. Or a god-roll Grasp with that one scope I liked. Took me ages but it was fun. Can't do that anymore, everything is the same now.
-
Should've kept weapons to have different perks that was most of the grind for me in D1:)

My spouse and i were playing last night. He has completed all his milestones and doeant want to run an alt. He is 286 or something. He cant get drops right now for anything other than the nightfall or the raid and we didnt want to have to try that hard the night before getting up early to go to work. So we quit and watched a tv show. He has no reason to turn the game back on until Tuesday.

they made it casual friendly, which is a good thing, but they removed a lot of good ideas they added throughout D1 that catered to hardcore players. I am by no means a hardcore player bcs I dont play enough for that, but I am a hardcore fan of it. Everything from gaining grimoire score based on kills with different weapons or abilities, or filling up record books, its all gone. Theres no reason to play strikes or even go on patrol. Its just too bland for hardcore fans in terms of things to do on a daily basis. Dont even get me started on the UGLY location based gear from each location. its not worth grinding activities on that planet/location to try and obtain. The timed element for the nightfall pushes ppl away bcs no one wants to be stuck having to start over bcs a timer went off, literally no one asked for a speed-run simulator. Make nightfalls a horde mode, since people have been asking for a true horde mode since D1. The way the game is right now, its basically meant for casual players to get from point A to point B, and took away any elements that hardcore fans liked that got them to log in everyday.

Изменено (lDisco_Bonesl): 9/26/2017 12:04:54 AMI don't fully see these elements of the game that you've listed as "restrictions" but more as "refinements". I do agree that having the strikes separte from the adventures and quests really detaches them from the game. The only instinctive to do them is from a milestone zavala gives you once. But! The other items on your list seem to me to be how D1 should've have been. I've been seeing quite a few players suggesting that D2 wouldnt have the same longevity as D1, but those comments are impulsive and inaccurate. D1 had substantially less content at this point in D2's release and it stuck around till year 3. I think most players are forgetting that this franchise will evolve as we continue to play it and we just need to be patient. Sure, it'd be great if it was shipped as the perfect game...but that's unrealistic to expect. Be patient!

I played some crucible in d1 yesterday for the first time since the d2 beta. It was like waking up from a bad dream.

Anyone get the impression that the developers of D2 never, ever worked on D1? So, they don't know what did work, they don't know what didn't work. Some of the deletions and replacement are so mind boggling stupid. F'rinstance, I'm not a big fan of shaders. I use them a bit, and,"Oh, that's nice!" D2 shaders! They have no impact! All bland pastel colours. Then, when you see a vibrant colour in a shader and think that's cool, and put it on, the vibrant colour goes into the buttons on your shirt, or the soup stain on your collar! I can't be bothered with them. If it was shaders alone, then OK, but the shader crap extends to most of the game.
-
Can we talk about how armor and weapons are limited too? Even including mods, armor and weapons in d1 had way more perks. And more specifically exotic armor is just so bland and watered down that most of it I only use for cosmetic purposes because it has so little effect on actual gameplay. This excludes the Orpheus rig

D1 was a better game and will have a longer play time than d2. D2 is garbo
-
Don't forget the broken mind that brought Collections functionality forward for everything except ships and sparrows. At first, the cross-slot infusing by weapon type seemed like a good idea. But now it also limits progression with too many SMG or other undersireable RNG punishment (really like that sword, sorry ... we're only going to drop fusion rifles for the next two weeks).
-
Don't forget... Exotic Engrams: Opening up new exotic engrams restricted to the exotics you all ready have... 4 Doom Fang Pauldron's in a row??? Come on Bungie!!

Изменено (DUFFBALL): 9/25/2017 11:29:27 PMAre where is bungie during all these genuine complains from dedicated hardcore players....counting their $$$ and laughing at us. I have 2000hrs in D1 5400 grimmore and I'm pissed.
