TL:DR download the free trial version of D1 for xbone and do the account transfer Long version As i posted before on this i have been having trouble getting the website and app to work and recognise that I have actually been playing destiny 2. The app would say that I had no characters and that i needed to link an account that had some. I believe this issue came from having played D1 on the xbox 360 and never on the xbone. I had seen a post about someone mentioning possibly purchasing Destiny 1 for the xbone and doing the account transfer and i was not going to by D1 again just to maybe get D2 working. Anyway the solution that worked for me was to download the trial version of D1 for free and when it opened the first time it asked if i wanted to do an account transfer and I said yes. The account transfer progress bar never moved and i was worried that it didn't work but when I checked the app I was able to see my character information. I then opened D2 and my characters were still there so my fear of them getting deleted in this process unfounded. Not sure if this will work for everyone but if you played on a legacy console for D1 and jumped up by the time of D2 this is worth a try for you!
