Well I went ahead and got the cheapest version of Fortnite and started playing it yesterday.
I have to say that so far I'm enjoying myself, but the UI is a little rough with this game. My biggest complaint right now is the weapon crafting/weapon repair. You can only craft and prepare your loadout while your in mid mission, not when your in an idle screen. So what I do is make a private game, build the weapons I have schematics for, prepare my loadout and then exit the mission and reset back to public play and re-enter the mission (that's if I want to play public, no friends are plating atm).
Other than that, the game has been pretty fun. A little different from the same ole fps games I normally play. 3Rd person, zombie horde, loot dropping, fort building game that looks like as I play is opening up daily challenges and other things I haven't figured out yet.
A bit of a learning curve for this game (not use to playing building type games) but overall I like the concept. Graphics are a bit kiddish but good. Looking like as the map opens there will be other activities to participate in.
Tldr: so far so good, but epic could change the UI to include your backpack when your in between missions.

One big gripe about the game I have is how intimidating the upgrade menu and survivor menu are, I feel as if I'm fine totally ignoring them but at the same time I feel like I'm biting myself by not paying attention to it
