The Hidden: Ch. 3

Eris Morn 3.0 These Taken are like nothing I've ever faced. They are significantly difficult from the normal Taken. The Taken I knew brought with them the Darkness in its material form. These ones only bring Light - tainted Light. They are not bound to the Traveler; they are immune to the Darkness; they are somewhere in between. The powers of the Light and Darkness are unable to distinguish them, and are hidden from both. I can hear him, faintly. A familiar voice. He whispers in my mind. "No. These are not Taken. They are former slaves of the Traveler. Open minds that seek knowledge, power, and leadership. I can provide all of these. We no longer know pain, hunger, or suffering. I have used the Traveler's 'gift' for the good of humanity. The Traveler has done, and continues to do nothing with its remaining power! A power that should be ours to share and spread across many worlds, solar systems, galaxies, and soon after that, the Universe! Come, Eris Morn. I can free you of your burden. You finally have the chance to see the Light once more. You do not have to be trapped in the dark anymore." I am tempted. But I shall not abandon my allies, my home, my identity. And I see better than I ever did with my own eyes. "Your identity was lost in the pit. When you faced, Crota, who I slew for you, you barely escaped with your life, but had lost yourself. I can give it back to you; the life that Crota took." I cannot. I have a duty to these people. I have made my mark on the members of The Tower, which we shall reclaim The voice leaves me.

  • Increased Activity 3.0 Within the Iron Temple/Before the first encounter with the Hidden.... Unknown Guardian: Hmm... that's interesting.... or perhaps that's bad. Zavala: What is it, Guardian? Unknown Guardian: There's increased activity in the Plaguelands. Zavala: Devil Splicers? Unknown Guardian: No, not Fallen, nor even the Cabal, Taken, or Hive. The Guardian scrolls through the computers and zooms in on the location. As he zooms in on the highlighted location, he sees a crashed ship. Unknown Guardian: It's the Light level of a Guardian, and he doesn't have a Ghost! Zavala: I shall see to it his safe return. And I know just the Guardian. Zavala walks out of the Iron Temple while the Guardian focuses on the schematics. Unknown Guardian: But something is... off.

3.1 Clashing Light As Daemon-13's ship flew in the night sky, he grew anxious. He opened a compartment and grabbed out a disk. Then, he inserted the disk into a slot under the control panel of the ship. Within seconds, pre-Collapse music played from his speakers. Daemon-13 hummed along with the words of one of the songs that was playing. Within the hidden compartment of the ship, Seraph-7 heard Daemon-13 sing for the first time in a while. A smile stretched across her robotic face, and she hummed in silent with him. Minutes passed as they hummed together. Seraph-7 slowly comes to a stop, and her eyes begin to widen. She looks frantically around her surroundings. Her claustrophobia began to get the best of her. As she rapidly kicks, punches, and screams, Daemon-13 takes quick notice and descends. As the ship lowers from the sky and into the middle of the Plaguelands, the screaming grew louder. Daemon-13: What the Hell? The ship lands slowly, yet the cockpit opens swiftly. Daemon-13 climbs and hops off the ship before looking over every crevice of the ship. After seconds of searching, he notices a hidden compartment and opens it. He watches as Seraph-7 rushes out and thrashes around on the ground. Her eyes open, and she stops spazzing out. Daemon-13: Why the Hell are you here?! I told you to STAY PUT! Seraph-7: I wanted to go on my first real mission. Daemon-13: You just don't get it, do you?! Any mission can be your last! Not every mission is just a walk in the park, going down slides, playing on swing sets! It's all fun and games until you get a lick of death before getting ressurected, only to die again and repeat the same process OVER and OVER! His loud, stern voice upsetted her greatly. She stares into Daemon-13's harsh, bright red eyes with her saddened, baby blue eyes. Her stare made his glare soften up. He turns away and makes his ghost teleport and hover over his palm. Daemon-13: Commander Zavala, do you read? Zavala: <<Loud and clear, Guardian.>> Daemon-13: I need an extraction point. One of the rookies followed me, and she can't be here. Zavala: <<Negative, Guardian. She will be of use to you.>> Daemon-13: But she'll die! Zavala: <<That is why we have fireteams. And beware, Guardian. Increased movement in your area.>> Daemon-13: Wait, Zavala! You don't understand! Zavala: <<*static*>> Daemon-13: Dammit! Something is scrambling the signal. Seraph-7 taps on Daemon-13's shoulder and points at a crashed ship. Seraph-7: Has that always been there? Daemon-13 looks up and sees the ship. He notices that the control panel is still illuminated, meaning that it crashed not long ago. He approached the ship and examined it's damaged frame. He allowed his ghost to scan the ship and its contents. Daemon-13's Ghost: This ship belongs to the Warlock, Gilgran Zuhn. Funny, here's his ship, but no Guardian. Suddenly, a strange sound was hear all around them. Daemon-13's ghost is frightened by the voice and teleports. Daemon-13: Well, this is what you wanted. Lock and load. Suddenly, a pale purple orb appears and grows rapidly in mass. The growing sphere was accompanied by a familiar sound of that of a Taken blight forming. It bursts and temporarily blinds the two Guardians. When their vision returned, they saw a purple, Taken-like humanoid. It raises its hand, and two pale purple, fiery wings manifest on his back. An orb hovers over his raised hand, as four more small orbs form around him. The orbs distort the area around them and form into transparent entities similar to the Echoes of Oryx, but instead in the shape of an ancient armor that was forgotten by many - the ancient armor from the Days of Iron Daemon-13 pulls Seraph-7 to cover with him. The entities manifest ghostly rifles into their hands. The glowing Warlock stands still; his hands made into fist, his fiery, pale wings stretched out, and his glowing, eye-like face staring at the rock that they're hiding behind. Daemon-13 and Seraph-7 look at each other with worried expressions. Daemon-13: I think I'm gonna need more ammo.
