A sidearm out guns any primary within its range, you'd be stupid not to use one.

I am yet to find out how in 3 years of Destiny bungie has not been able to address the massive imbalance between the usefulness of secondaries over primary weapons... There are very few situations where a primary is the right choice for an engagement

Hence the change in Destiny 2 Loadouts system lol

what did they change...I honestly havent sat down and watched the full reveal yet mostly because I think that very little of what they revealed will actually be the same at launch

Well now it's kinetic, energy, and power weapons. The energy slot replaces special and is mostly also weapons we now consider primary weapons except they have elements. Kinetic is just primary without elements. (Btw the elements actually do more damage against supers in pvp so that's their purpose there). And power weapons of course include rockets and stuff but also include shotgun, sniper and fusion. And in pvp power weapon ammo can only be picked up by one member of each team when it spawns. So there will be far less people able to use a sniper, shotgun, rocket launcher, etc at any given time. So basically it focuses on primaries now and you have to use power weapon ammo wisely. PVE you have to use it wisely too as you can no longer dps with both sniper and rocket etc. and switch back and forth on the fly.

hmm okay that does sound kind of interesting i will withold judgement until launch and a couple months after of real world gameplay one of the things I hope they increase is the flinch factor.....primaries should hit hard and feel like they are hitting hard... destiny is plagued by people who run through or in the case of snipers sit in a hail of gunfire to spam a one hit weapon(with generous aim assist and ludicrous hitboxes)
