Title says it all.
I can't think of a single goddamned reason not to have access to all of our goofy-ass dances and other emotes, or our Ghost skins, masks, et cetera.
I respect that I have no idea how Bungie is going to shape up the sequel in relation to Destiny, I really do, but this seems extremely sweeping-it-all-under-the-rug.
Can't some of this stuff be converted into cosmetics? They've spent a chunk of the last year developing alternate looks for a number of Exotic weapons, for instance. Do that with Legacy Eververse stuff. We paid goddamned money for this, in the belief that there would be some persistence of character into the future.
Let me say this really plainly, Bungie - carrying over the small handful of details I picked out for my characters' faces on Day 1, and then hid under a helmet for the next three years, that ain't gonna cut it by a long shot.

Destiny to me isn't comparable to other FPS's such as CoD sequels, (for example), are not continuations, whereas D2 is. As a day one player that has long since lost faith in this franchise, (and unfortunately Bungie), mainly due the Activision business practices, and who has not spend a dime in the eververse, I can completely understand the feeling of being cheated that at least some cosmetic items/dances will not be carried over. With the mmo-lite design, yet still trying to price gouge at every step like whatever trending current FPS, coupled with the talks of the 10 year plan so long ago...I realized I needed to leave this behind when we were being charged for what really were updates being portrayed as expansions. Not for me, but I wish you all luck.

You bought for Destiny 1 not D2. Buying a boost in CoD does not pass over to the next. Battlefield 4 bought items are not in B1 Ect. Ect. Ect. Wait every game bought item never carries over in every game I played or heard about.

Изменено (CatPawed): 3/8/2017 10:00:03 AMTL;DR Stop being such dicks about people buying in game items. It disgusts me how many people on here are unwilling to hear the individuals who have *valid* reason to feel exactly like the title of the post says "swindled". Get past the fact that he paid money for in game items. He had the money, and it was important enough to him to have the dances and emotes purchased, they're like accessories when compared to reality. It's like buying a cool lanyard for your car keys that helps you "express" yourself. Bungee never made any indication that Eververse items would be completely restricted to D1. And it is understandable for people to feel the way they feel about Eververse items not transferring with their guardian. I don't understand why this community feels such a desire to bash each other for spending money on this game, we've all spent money on this game in one way or another, and to bash someone for spending their hard earned cash on an in game item is by definition "hypocritical". So ffs just try to hear someone out, see where they are coming from, and provide some logical responses, or just move along. Anyways, yeah man I don't understand Bungies logic to not include in game cosmetic items. The only explanation I can come up with is that they "may" and that's a big may be re-purposing the D pad for something else. I'm gonna miss my Shia Lebouf emote for sure

I can, because it's a new game....

Recommended in Destiny 2, non of us ever buy Silver again

-
Just for info....OP has gone very quiet.......
-
From now on. Every one of these posts will get a "waaahhhhhh" reply.
-
After d2 lunches you can still log back in to d1 and all the stuff you bought and grinded for will still be there.
-
U have no idea what yr 2 characters are going to look like, perform like or anything...none of the old stuff may even work with the new game.. U chose to buy stuff, and like any other game when a new game comes out , the old game doesnt carry ovee to the new

Aw poor you, If you put rice in salt it dries it out. Go get some Basmati
-
Your worried that you've wasted your money on what was already a waste of money? Huh.
-
You admit you have no idea how they are sculpting the sequel..... And in the same breath ask for things to be carried forward. You seem confused.... Does anyone know of any game where items bought through microtransactions were carried in to a sequel? Genuine question, as I can't think of any. When Destiny was released it had many problems, please let's get on-board with leaving everything behind so that we can have a newer, better, more balanced experience. I don't want the same emblems, ghosts, emotes or any of that shit. I want new cool shit I can't even imagine.

I spent $2000 on silver and am glad I get to move on and buy more things. You peasants need to get off the games and get jobs. Even working for minimum wage and cutting your game time in half, you'd all be like tens of thousands of dollars richer. I hope your addiction has been worth that kind of money!
-
Did you think maybe for a second, that destiny 2 might just give you all those emotes?
-
If you bought Silver you 'swindled' yourself. lol
-
Technically you got swindled when you spent a single penny on eververse. But sure. Good point.
-
All of you morons deserve this. You really do. You have no reason to complain anymore. If you're still playing this game hoping for new and exciting things, you deserve all of this BS they are (still) feeding you.
-
You post your opinion but then shit on everyone that says otherwise. That means this post is purely for attention. Typical...
-
It's for Destiny 1. It was added to Destiny 1 after its second year. We will continue to be able to purchase and spend Silver on Destiny 1. Destiny 1 content is not going forward to Destiny 2, so at the very least, you would only be able to spend Silver for items in on one game or the other that will not cross over. There was never a promise Eververse or Silver would be permanent.
-
Never seen cosmetics or the like carry into sequels before. Why is Destiny different? It was pretty obvious that Destiny's eververse was for Destiny 1.
-
Hey look another shit post about carrying stuff over. Creative.
-
im sry for acting like a smartass but... isnt it normal for microtransactions that are bought in one game to NOT carry over to another? seems pretty self explanatory to me unless the emotes description says its also for destiny 2... and as far as i know bungo never said eververse stuff would carry over, so there isnt much, if any, "swindle" at all. the only lie was back in 2014 or something when they said everything would carry over but thanks to their "were constantly changing" excuse... look at it from the bright side, you learned your lesson.
-
Oh shut it
-
Another crap post. Shocking.

Изменено (Glocket Man): 3/7/2017 9:40:12 PMIf you buy weapon skins or battlepacks or any kind of pay-to-win or pay-to-look-good aesthetic modifier thing in a game, does it carry over into the sequel? I sunk a bit of money into the Halloween event, didn't even get all of the masks, and I fully expected it to not carry over into Destiny 2. A thing so many people are forgetting is that this is gonna be a sequel, not another expansion. They aren't adding to the base game like TTK and RoI, they're making a whole new game.
obviously such a difficult concept to grasp
I'm not saying Bungie is a do-no-evil bunch of people, because they've proved that they aren't always so bright time and time again, but for real guys. You can't even take all your stuff with you in the Mass Effect series, and those games are praised for how great they are and how you can keep your Shepard and his/her decisions through the different games.
