The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - Movie Club Discussion!
This one is probably my favourite in the series, though it's very close with RotK.
To start us off, [b]what is your favourite scene from the film?[/b]
Mine is probably the council scene where they're deciding what to do with the One Ring. I love when Legolas stands up and defends "Strider". [url=https://youtu.be/RRzVYYESyv4?t=2m8s]Click here to watch the scene.[/url]
Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) was honestly the perfect Aragorn for me. He travelled just about everywhere by foot to get the weathered, travelled look; he always carried real metal weapons and proper gear (armour) so that he could always feel the weight of it and be conscious of it; and he even deflected a real knife that could have done some serious damage to him (or even killed him) during the film. For those who don't know, when he's fighting the Uruk-hai leader, the actor playing the Uruk threw a real knife at him (not knowing it was real). Additionally, it slipped at a full speed throw and went straight at Viggo's head. His instincts kicked in and he perfectly deflected the knife, even shattering part of the blade.

My favorite parts in the entire trilogy go like this: Fellowship Of The Ring: The Last Alliance and the extended version of the Amon Hen battle. The Two Towers: Gandalf vs. The Balrog, Easterling march, Sam's speech, Theoden's "Horse and Rider" speech, seeing Osgiliath for the first time, and the banter between Legolas and Gimli during the battle of Helm's Deep. "I won't let no pointy eared elf outscore me!!" Return Of The King: Siege of Gondor/Battle Of Pelennor Fields (extended), Cirith Ungol brawl (extended), march out of Minas Morgul, Sam vs. Shelob, and the Battle Of The Black Gate

Also when Aragorn kicks the helmet and screams, he yells like that because Viggo Mortenson missed the prop helmet and kicked the 10-pound helmet, breaking his big toe

1 ответThe sence in the second movie when Aragorn think he failed Merry and Pippin. He kicks a helmet away and screams in agany. Later I found out that helmet prop was not meant for kickin and thuz it was rock solid when the actor kicked it and he broke 3 toes. So many great actors.

3 отв.Oh gosh. Where to begin. Scenes such as this one containing Gandalf's might were really epic for me. Boromir's Sacrifice, the Beacons of Gondar being Lit, and the scene where Eomer and Gandalf join the battle of Helms Deep were the most epic scenes for me.

When they enter the the Walls of Moria. That's my favorite sequence, from the pounding of the drums when the orcs hear them and begin the chase, to Gandalf's stand against the balrog.

2 отв.Viggo is just an amazing person all around. He did all the riding in the movie as well. Hell of a cowboy. If you haven't watched hidalgo that's another great role he has played. He actually bought the horse that was "hidalgo" in the movie because he liked him so much.

1 ответI love the grand scale battle scenes even tho most are cgi, they still look very cool. Especially the battle against sauron in some of the flashbacks. The way the elves fight as a unit is so cool to watch
