A Tale Of Two Hunters (A Short Story)

...She waited at the Court. Unknown to the rest, she believed that the end of Oryx was not the end of The Hive. Having defeated the SIVA Crisis, and laying Aksis to rest, she spent her time studying the Portal. During one of her scouts, a fellow Hunter approached the Court. He was not as experienced as she was, with inferior armor and weapons, but he had courage, and a fire burning within him. After seeing him struggle to defeat the bosses within the Court, she decided to help him. Tier 1, Tier 2, even Tier 3, down they fell as she slew them with her might. The boy cheered and celebrated with her, gaining better and better gear, eventually strengthening his light. He simply waved, and returned to Orbit. She didn't let him know, but his absence immediately left her with a token of loneliness. Who was he? What did he want? Where was he going? She knew none of it, and with only her thoughts to sooth her, she returned to the Portal, gazing, and studying. It was a bitterness that was all too often in her world. As the Green returned to a sad, and hateful buzz, she knew that a Hunter must roam, and a Hunter most survive alone. It was the way of things, and her eyes returned to the Future...
