Review of Eververse and Real Money Transfer Rates

For the most part, I like the Eververse service, but it could use some improvement now that Rise of Iron is out. For context, I've bought 50 USD in Silver every time the Eververse updates, so I'm fairly familiar with the service. I don't want to only harp on what I don't like, but also give feedback on what I feel works well, so I'll go over the whole thing. Mystery Bags: Fall 2015, Winter 2015, and Spring 2016 Emotes: These actually represent a pretty good value. If you missed any Emotes that you like, or just want to collect them later on at a better price, the fact that they are weighted to give new Emotes only, and not be sold again after all are acquired, make this a pretty foolproof non-abusive package at 2 USD a pop. Since they are also a durable that can be picked up from a Kiosk, this is a 4/5 type of transaction for me. The only thing that prevents them from being perfect is that to get the full value, you have to buy in bulk. Sparrow Toolkit: These are also right on the sweet spot for me. 5 USD for a Sparrow, guaranteed to be one I don't have, that I can also pick up form a Kiosk is great. Grant total of 25 USD for 5 Sparrows, 5/5 perfect transaction type. Custom Horn Kit: This is my first issue with Eververse. For a while it was my only complaint, and at 1 USD, there wasn't a lot of reason to complain, but now let's go ahead and get it out there. There are 16 different Horns which are currently not weighted to give an unobtained Horn. Furthermore, even though there is a Sparrow Kiosk that houses the Happy Horn and the Gjallar Horn, these do not show up in a Kiosk. This means I have a lot, but not all of the Horns taking up Item Space in my Vault. The 1 USD isn't a sore price point, but the combination of the items not being durable, not being stored in a Kiosk, and the gambling type transaction of randomly receiving a unique Sparrow make this a very poor purchase. Currently a 2/5 transaction based solely on price point. Possible fixes: First and foremost, make the horns show up in the Sparrow Kiosk. Let's get that inventory space freed up. Second, weight the horns to give unobtained ones. Third, lose the gambling on a Sparrow. There's just no need for it. I could conceivably see a Sparrow to cost between 15-20 USD for a premium one-of-a-kind design. If you make this a guaranteed drop when all Horns are purchased, you still get 16 USD for a Spawwor with the customer getting Horns in the process. You've done this with the Taken Emote needing all 5 Takes pieces of Armor obtained, so it can also be done here. Emotes and Featured Rep Boosters: These are fine. Buy them if you want/need them. Don't buy them if you don't The Emotes will go on 'sale' as long as you want to buy in bulk after the season is over, so options exist. 3/5 Solid transactions. I'm not rating them low, it's just that this is the measuring bar to judge all other transactions, so it's right in the middle. Now we get into the dicey bits, Silver Dust and Radiant Treasures: With these packages you've created a new currency, Silver Dust, and right now the conversion rates aren't great. For 2 USD you can get 5-6 Silver Dust. Filters (Artifacts) and a Sparrow can be bought for Silver Dust specifically. The Filters cost 15 Silver Dust and can be reacquired form the Eververse Kiosk as much as needed. This translates to approximately 6 USD a piece. This does change the entire graphical aspect of Destiny and I don't have a problem with the price point. The filters are a bit... overblown, though. They do need two adjustable aspects: the ability to adjust saturation on a slider and the ability to adjust a fading effect to the borders of the screen in a similar fashion. All in all, still a 3/5 transaction that just needs a bit of implementation tweaking. The Gjallarwing: You guys have lost your minds on this one. 75 Silver Dust is 26-35 USD based on how much Silver Dust you can get from breaking down Ornaments. I can't conceivably spent more than the sweet spot of 15-20 USD on this. You had better just hope no one realizes how much this is. At least it is a durable that you can get back from a Kiosk. 2/5 non-abusive, but not a good value. This would need either a fix in the conversion rate of Silver Dust (not recommended), or a price reduction to 40 Silver Dust. Radiant Treasure and Ornaments: For each Radiant Treasure you get one random Ornament and 1 Silver Dust, as well as a chance at Random Items. This purchase represents a currency conversion that includes non-durable items as an extra bonus. There's nothing wrong with currency conversions or extra goodies, so that isn't a sore point. The Ornaments not being durable and not weighting to unobtained Ornaments is. As a byproduct, I feel that you've gotten the conversion rates backwards in regards to Ornaments and how much Silver Dust they break down for. I feel that you should be able to get 5 Silver Dust from the packages themselves, and that the Ornaments should break down for 1 Silver Dust. You should be able to take the Ornament to Eva Levante, for example, and trade it to her along with 5 Silver to get that Ornament applied to the gear and as a permanent Item that will show up in her Inventory as long as applicable Items are equipped (that way the inventory screen doesn't get over cluttered). Just have the gear equipped when you talk to her, and you'll be able to see and apply the skin to a new copy of the Item for 1 Silver Dust. This would still make the item box a good conversion purchase, but also make the experience less of a gamble. Note: I bought about 26 USD worth of Radiant Treasures and openned them until my Ornamets Inventory was full. Two of the Ornaments were for Truth, so I picked up Truth out of the Vault, applied the Ornaments. The next 6 Ornaments I opened were then for Truth, so I put it back in my Vault. I then opened no more Truth Ornaments from Radiant Treasures until I ran out of them. I'm not sure if there is a bug somewhere, but that was 16 USD of Truth transactions that I'm not happy about. Currently a 1/5 Transaction because of non-durable, non-weighted Items drops and an iffy conversion rate for other purchases (see the Gjallarwing).
