I write this partly out of frustration and partly because people just may not know what to do.
If someone on LFG is looking for Speed Runs, they are looking to complete the content as fast as humanly possible.
Here is a basic guide to farming or speed running Challenge of Elders.
1. We don't care about points or kills, we only care about killing the boss ASAP. Which leads me to...
2. Focus fire on the boss. Only kill enough ads so you and your fireteam stay alive. Put as much damage on the boss as quickly as you reasonably can. Nobody is on "ad duty."
3. Bring the right gear for the fight. Certain bosses in CoE have certain mechanics and having the right gear makes the fight easier. For example, the Cabal boss with the elementally shielded flayers goes a lot smoother if exotic swords are utilized. Also, Sleeper Simulant hits like a freight train and can be utilized against bosses that like to stand still.
4. Using subclasses that have damage boosting supers is a God send. Utilize them if you can. It's all about doing as much damage as possible as quickly as possible while not being a kamikaze moron.
5. If you've got a House of Judgment booster, they are always appreciated by your fireteam. Use them.
6. Lastly, you do not have to wait until the rewards screen to go back to orbit. As soon as the mission ends and the 30 second count down begins you can go to orbit. You will still get your rewards and you will save significant time between runs. It may not seem like much, but it really helps speed up the process when doing a lot of speed runs. Any time that can be saved is very much appreciated by all.
I'll be taking suggestions if anyone comes up with something good to add.

These ideas don't appear to be as common knowledge as I thought.

But I need that 30k brah
-
3 Titans each with Blessings and ToM = R.I.P every single boss in there. I have found such a new appreciation for Titans it is astounding.

Three Jade Rabbits never reloading melts bosses

I have only ever solo'd, but this is solid advice. Might try to farm this with a group - give me a good reason to use my booster. I've been having my best exotics drop from CoE lately. Worth a look.

Decent tips. I've never been in that much of a hurry to complete these, but I know people farm the hell out of them for House Judgement rep, Engrams and getting the 90K Cumulative package (Sure it might take four or five runs if you're not making the 30K mark each time, but if you run 'em fast enough it's quicker). To those guys snarking him.. Challenge of Elders isn't a matchmade activity. If you join in response to someone's LFG posting and they specifically say they want to do a speedrun, then get mad at them when you're not getting enough points.. that's on you. He's not telling you to 'git gud' and stop messing about doing matchmade Strikes or something like that, he's just asking you to actually be efficient timewise if you join his posting saying he wants to speedrun.

When doing speed runs in CoE, if one of your teammates ends up with 10k+ in points, you're doing it wrong. #ThisTotallyHappenedToMeSeveralTimesThisWeekend

When doing speed runs in CoE, if Variks "grows impatient" and decreases your score...you're doing it wrong. #ThisTotallyHappenedToMeSeveralTimesThisWeekend

Yup, good stuff man.

I'm sure many know of this, but have two guardians with Touch of Malice, third guardian revives and add control. Depending on the boss, might have to move here and there, but ToM melts them quick!

A titan using Hung Jury with triple tap, a shotgun and cauterize make soloing a piece of cake.

As my group / clan says - Shoot Shit Dont Die.

Just curious how Boss kill speed runs benefit you if you're not using the points rewards? Why would someone want to do this over actually getting the added benefit rewards from the points?
-
Did you really just explain how to beat a horde mode in 2016? Just stop
-
Thank You, I always post Speed Runs when on lfg and always end up with one idiot saying "wtf are you doing? I need the points"

Great guidance, BoomerSooner.

Thanks, always looking for ways to avoid playing the game wile I'm playing the game.
-
Brilliant. Too many slow kids playing Destiny these days. And I meant that both ways.

Found that the best method for this week was a sunbreaker titan with bladedancer hunter and nightstalker hunter. The bladedancer crushes the adds and makes orbs for everyone else, the nightstalker pops the boss with bow, the hammer titan goes all thor on his ass, and then the other two use snipers. Crushed the first boss in about 5 minutes, the second in about the same and the final boss in about 10 minutes (he moves around a ton and those taken balls of death are a royal nuisance)

Good , sound advice for the guardians without alot of time on their hands.
-
Very nicely stated and thought out post.

Also utilise the spot on the left in the fallen arena with armour of light and touch of malice. You can shoot while standing in the bubble and damage the boss :)
