Video games: an entertaining activity that we all do in our free time. What happened to us? I'm not talking about just the #Gaming portion of the Destiny forums, I'm talking about all of the Video Game community. Before I get into it, I would like to say that there are still some nice people, don't get me wrong there but I'm talking about the community as a whole. Just about everywhere you look for information on gaming there will be something about competition. This competition can be good in the sense that it furthers the gaming that we all love. Or it can be bad I'm the sense that people feel they need to be superior to their competitors. The main place that I see this is in the Xbox vs Playstation "fights". The fans that feel the need to be better then their competitor, these are the people I am addressing, the people who need to feel better. Saying that the other platform is bad or that yours is good is being one sided. Both of your consoles have their ups and downs, you fail to see that because all you want is to be better. Now to the bigger picture, we as a whole have taken this hobby and turned it into a hostile place. If we don't like a game then it is immediately a bad game, we give devs so much grief for just trying their hardest for making something FOR US. If you don't like a game then don't annoy the community with your hate. [b][i]I admit to doing this and many of us can[/i][/b]. The reason for why we have become such a picky, hate filled community is not entirely known but I can guess that the constant hate of a few made others hate and thus the cycle goes around, there's a name for this I'm sure of it*. Now, before you start saying that you are a good person, I'm not saying that we are all bad but the hate filled and those that feel the need to be better then others basically yell louder then the kind and good hearted. There are still good people, a prime example would be Reign of Bane. If we all just be a little more like him, or those that are just post a little more we can all attempt to make a difference. This is now sounding like a generic let's all be nice thing. I understand that we can't change our whole Video Game community but we can at least change our forums. Maybe it's just me, but I'm done with all the hate that goes towards each other when we all play and like video games. I'm finishing up here. So next time you feel the need to hate on someone else's beloved game or tell a dev they they f[u]u[/u]cked up think: would you want someone hating on your favorite game or someone saying that your hard worked on project sucks?[spoiler]TL,DR: We need to start being nicer to one another, please, send kindness around and let's see if we can't make this forum a little better. *goldenrule[/spoiler] Edit1: We are trending, thanks to all the people who support what we proposed above.
