They are largely working class, under educated and emotionally visceral. They believe that Destiny has value because of its endless re-playability and living lives of route and pointlessness themselves, they can detect no alternative. They don't mind asset devaluation because for many, they'll never have any assets to speak of and for those that remain, they are well used to 'the man' changing the rules on them and taking 'what's rightfully theirs'. Similarly, having earned very little respect themselves in life, many are now dedicated to denying it in others. They truly believe that an incoherent rant or abusive quip is a victory and in that it may bully or silence sincerity or legitimate feedback; in this alone, they may be correct. They do enjoy gambling - more than winning. They accept the illusion of victory because even when they do hit the lottary, they are pennyless soon after. [u] They swear incessently. They are homophobic, sexist, insensitive, intolerant and anger unmanaged but always want to be heard and demand a fair shake themselves.[/u] They usually cut corners while deriding those who earn an easier method. They rage and toss the board game when they're bested and often think success at a game is some form of life validation. They have very little self esteem and inversely proportionate arrogance. They are bought easily, usually for no more than a name tag or star beside their name and they reliably proclaim to deserve more stars. They believe they are special, misunderstood, underappreciated but they have problems forming lasting relationships, giving respect or validating opposing opinion and can be detected easily by the common proclamations: that people who are better educated or articulate than they are - are "stupid" and that opinions that contradict theirs - are "retarded". They will not only buy TTK, they will chastise those who don't, forming and filtering a community of like minded until they themselves are consumed by the narrow mindedness they premote. They are unlikely to ever blame Bungie because 'the man' above (aka Activision or maybe Obama) is "always pulling the strings". In 10 years, there will be no Destiny. There will be no Bungie either but this cohort of diehard TTK veterans will have pretty much the identical life station, asset value and wardrobe as they have now, with the avoidable added heath concerns, no insurance and little tolerance for people telling them how they should have spent their lives or money. They will still be wearing their 2015 TTK T-shirt. [u]Many different and diverse people worldwide will join the Destiny ranks [/u]and yet, only these few are likly to remain long. [b][u]It is the [i]Destiny[/i] of an addiction based, loot withdrawal, manipulatuve system that they can only attract and retain the most vulnerable, least discriminating, most un-notable among us.[/u][/b] So, why not call them Legends? They do.
