The opposing argument (matchmaking)

I like to make it a tradition of finding out alternatives and exploring the entirety of the topic at hand. Sometimes this requires me to ask the hard - opposing question. In hopes that all the issues will be shaken out of the woodwork so that they can be identified and resolved. So if you would indulge me , and take some time to think about the questions posed below with me- I think we may be able to get at some of those details that are missing from this matchmaking equation. [ The Matchmaking thing ] This has been, in my opinion, the most consistently requested thing for destiny. Or rather it would impact the majority of things that make up this world we call destiny. (Or lack there of) All technical chatter and lag stuff aside- I would like to focus more on the feel of game play and not get hung up on tiny details that wouldn't come up until it's time. Now with all that being said- let's get down to brass tacks. -- *Why do the players feel they require matchmaking? This is probably the question that bungie is asking themselves the most. As they do provide a way to do everythig- but it's just not how WE THE PLAYERS have been programmed. Yes. I said programmed. After years of gaming your minds have adapted to what to expect. This is that loot hunger you feel when you know there is somthing better. or that feeling in your gut when you team up with your crew and head out on a raid. Or even when you are hiding behind a corner hiding from a monster.. So I ask- what is it- in our programmed - player mindset- that wants to ask for matchmaking? Is it laziness? I doubt it.. Is it impatience? Perhaps but unlikely as we are in for the long haul. So then what is it about the world that suggest to US the players that matchmaking would be an improvement?? // I have faith that matchmaking could indeed stop our brains from wanting matchmaking. But I'm wondering now.... ..what other options could accomplish the same results - yet wouldn't require braking the 4th wall by entering a sect screen? I have some ideas rolling around in my head and I hope some of you can touch on the theme so we can have more detailed discussions... For instance.. -What if we could server chat? Wouldn't that help find people right away? -Or what about dungeon style hunts where one can stand around outside the cave waiting for other who need it too? Wouldn't having open mic help? Tell me what you think guardians. If you have an argument against matchmaking or have a better idea. This is your chance to talk it out calmly. So time to be heard.
