Well if you like getting up close in PvP but are conservative, use a warlock. They're melee can hit you from a mile away if need be.

I mainly run a titan and hunter, any class will get int a raid if you don't rune with elitist jerks who are unemployed stoners....but I digress... It is important to note that in PVP, armour doesn't mean anything. so a Titan is at a slight disadvantage due to one of their PvE advantages. Alos, I find that a titan in Iron Banner is much MUCH more fun to play and for my, I played much better with my Titan during those events spec'd toughness and recovery. It was actually fun and I felt competitive. You get the best melee and great range. People shrug off melee (knife to a gunfight) but think about it, just how many fights turn to melee? TONS. A sunsinger Warlock spec'd disc (grenades) and str (melee) with something like say, invective + those gloves that net two melee attacks (which I want so bad) watch out. FWIW I'm not the best crucible player (just check my stats) but you can see that *I* am better playing a warlock in pvp compared to titan and hunter.
