Here's how I hope they implement further progress with the game:
Raid Gear regardless of destination should be an acceptable choice: By dismantling current Raid gear one should be able to transfer the light to another set of the same type. (ie: chest for chest, etc...) Give the players a choice as to whether to transfer properties or break down for materials. This will allow aesthetic differences along with choosing which perks are most desirable per player.
The current route for upgrading gear/weapons is exhausting the player base. Players pride themselves on Raid rewards and shouldn't be forced to trash such things every new "expansion". The drive to complete the new raids will hold regardless of the gear.

I just thought about if bungie could give us some add ons on the current weapons / armor. Like you could get a scope to increase range or stabilizer or whatever to increase loading speed. Or ammo capacity and so on. So weapons and armor would be little bit custom to fit everyones own playstyle. Well maybe no time for that for house of wolves, but i hope dlcs would not stop there.
