Your character data will save and transfer over freely between your Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles. All you need to is sign in with the same gamertag on your Xbox One console, and you'll be good to go!

-

I recently went from 360 to a one. When i had my 360 I had bought the destiny disk and DLC's each time they came out including taken king. When i switched to xbox one this weekend had to get a xbox one disk of destiny to play it and once it uploaded and nstaalled it had my character and stats but its telling me to download the DLS's again. Im sort of upset cause i spent all this money and the DLC's are gone. Is there a way to get the DLC's I downloaded fr th ame to transfer to the xbox one?

You can use the Destiny Digital Upgrade Program to transfer your TDB and HoW for free. Unfortunately TTK is not eligible for a free upgrade and will need to be repurchased on your Xbox one.

How about if u have ur destiny save on Xbox one and u download your profile to Xbox 360 Will u still have ur save then?
-
I play on both so yes it saves from which ever console u use
-
I have to buy the digital copy just so it will transfer to my xbox one??
-
No, your character data will transfer regardless of whether your copy of Destiny is physical or digital.
-
Can you walk me through on what i have to do than plz??
-
To retrieve your character data, you must sign in to Destiny using the gamertag you used to play Destiny. Following a brief download, your characters will be ready to use.
-
On the 360 or one cuz i have the hard copy on the 360
-
You will want to sign in to Destiny on your Xbox One, as you will (presumably) have no character data on the console. If you have any further questions, please send me a message so as to not bump this thread.
-
Lol how am i supposed to send u a msg??

So i just sign in with the same gamer tag? Like my Xbox 360 gamer tag is Pandasnipez727. So I sign into my Xbox one with the Gamertag PandaSnipez727 and use the user name and password? Is there a place to sign in to it or is it that transfer the Gamertag account thing to the Xbox one?

So I rented destiny from red box for my 360 all last week . I just bought an xbox one yesterday. Will my progress tranfer if I buy destiny for the xbox one? Now do I download the digital?
-
Or did I have to play it digitally on my 360 to get the progress on my xbox one. Will it transfer if it was a hard copy of the game from red box.
-
Your character data is tied to your gamertag, so all you have to do is sign in with the same gamertag you were first using to play Destiny. Your character data is usable on both consoles, regardless of the version (physical or digital) of Destiny you own.

Sorry to sound annoying, but that means I can go back and forth right? So say I get raze lighter on the One and want to play with my friends on the 360, my raze lighter will be there waiting for me right?
-
I know you probably answered this, I'm just stressing the shit outa myself, so if i have the physical copy of destiny, for the xbox 360. It still gets transfered over to xbox one?
-
Yes it doesn't matter if it's physical or digital. When you connect their servers say "who are you?" Your xbox (360 or ONE) will say "I'm gamer tag X" the server will say "ok, let me find the information for gamer tag X, here you go". So as long as you use the same gamer tag all will be fine.

-
I did this myself. It transfers with your gamertag, not the disc itself. You'll keep all your progress

Edited by skippay: 12/25/2014 9:23:24 AMI have not done this personally but I have some knowledge on how this works. The data is not stored on your xbox it is stored on their servers, consider it like cloud storage like ondrive/google drive. I get you're nervous about losing your data so I've found a link that confirms that your characters WILL transfer: http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/07/18/bungie-confirms-that-destinys-guardians-will-be-transferable-across-next-old-gen-systems/ EDIT: I'll eat my Christmas hat if this doesn't work ;)
-
To clarify, if your talking about playing on both the 360 & Xbox One then you guardians work as skippay says. If you're talking about the free digital upgrade from 360 to Xbox One and you have a physical copy you will need to buy the game again.
