Seems redundant, there won't be enough who would bother with stuff like this. Personally if I'm messing around running a Strike and you refuse to join my fire team with a mic I'm just going to ignore you and move on regardless of any emotes someone is doing around me. For most people the universal sign that you don't want to communicate is to not join a group and throwing on your mic.

Firstly, thank you for providing me with your opinion. Now, onto your concerns. It may be true that this won't catch on, but it also may be true that it will. That will largely depend on whether forum members bring it to use in the game. I tried to keep the commands as simple as possible to avoid confusion and over complication. It should be noted that this is only a rough draft and that things may be modified or added before the final version. It should also be noted that the major reason this may seem like a lot is because I went through a lot of explanation to help people understand the reasoning for what I was doing. I tried to make an edit to show the simplified version of what I was saying, but a mod at some point edited something so I was unable to make changes. Basically, the messages can be made by pressing the following buttons on the D-pad I'm ready: up, left Wait a minute: up, down Play with me: up, right Invite me to play with you: up, right, left You shouldn't have difficulty remembering which is which because each emote has it's own vibe. In this case, wave is to get your teammates attention, point is to get attention to something else (or move on), dance is to play (or celebrate), sit is to wait. So, for example, 'wave then sit' means 'attention teammate, wait'. I did this purposely so as to make it as intuitive as possible. When I was playing the beta, I encountered many other players and never once spoke to any of them. We did our best to communicate on the fly, but using the analog stick to shake your head or nod can only communicate so much. I have seen no evidence that not joining a group or using a mic is the universal sign you don't want to play as a team. I had a bunch of people who played beside me on the fly with no prompting what-so-ever and no method of communication. From what I saw in the beta, most people in destiny are willing to play together without necessarily communicating. But you know what would make that teamwork even better? Communication. Not everyone will always be communicating with each other at all times because of how the game is set up, and some people will prefer to play without a mic. This does not mean they don't want to communicate, they just might not like to communication systems available to them or they may not be able to communicate for various reasons. What I am trying to do is give everyone, microphone or not, fireteammates or strangers, a way they can communicate to each other. Just because you personally do not have a need of this does not mean it lacks value. In fact, at this moment, 60% of voters in my poll have decided that they think that my idea has merit. Only 19% of voters at this time have decided that the idea is without merit. I am also getting the impression that players who use microphones often look down on players that don't. I may be wrong on this, but you need to keep in mind that there are various reasons a person could not communicate through a microphone ranging from inability to personal preference and that no one gaming style is the 'correct' way to play.
