  • I have, but it seems like he'd say anything to get me as far as I can... Because, you know... Dat sign-in bonus he'd get.

  • He doesn't get a sign in bonus. Wherever you're getting your information about recruiter from, stop.

  • Sweet Jesus. I always thought that was a thing. That's what people have always spouted since I was a wee-lad.

  • She's right. You're thinking of some sort of 'sign up a buddy' deal. The recruiters recruit because it's their job. Recruiters are on salary- and there are no bonuses for that.

  • If we're talking US military, I know for a fact, they don't.

  • We are indeed talking about the US Military, but honestly it doesn't surprise me. I live in a small community. It's easy for dumb stuff to get spread around.

As I stated prior; it's mild, if not minor. I have a few small spots on my head and elbow, they're all smaller than a dime, but I'm just not sure if that would matter. Although, I did read some where that it's a disqualification, unless mild by degree, but again, I believe it all comes down to what the docs say.

  • It is an instant disqualification. Unless there's some way to cover it up? *shrugs*

  • Again, it's not an instant disqualification, from my understanding, it's the doctors at MEPs who would decide on it. The full quotes from AR 40-501 (pages 14 and 29) regarding psoriasis and enlistment are as follows: "2–32. Skin and cellular tissues The causes for rejection for appointment, enlistment, and induction are: q. Psoriasis (696.1), unless mild by degree, not involving nail pitting, and not interfering with wearing military equipment or clothing." "3–38. Skin and cellular tissues The causes for referral to an MEB are as follows: w. Psoriasis. Extensive and not controllable by treatment."

  • I'm just telling you that the military is downsizing.. The regulation is the same for all skin disease, including acne.. however, there is no doctor at MEPS that will approve it. I can damn near guarantee it. Trying to save you 6-8 months which is how long it will take to send a waiver up and have it denied.
