Sure the US had a bit of a punch up with the British and didn't like the King of the time, however the last 2 Royal events in the UK have pulled in massive views from America to the point that most of the massive US TV channels bringing over large crews to rival the BBC's.
Also American's make up a large portion of tourists that come here and mainly to London to see the castle's and museums and things.
America has always been a country fond to learn history since it's only had 200 year's of it's own, the time before has always been a curiosity for many. A lot of medevil fantasy media like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings.
So do you think the country secretly likes Royal's and Monarchs? Kings and Queens?

Why are you so obsessed with America? The age of consent isn't lower over here, ya know. It's actually higher.

Edited by Rhulk's Skirt UwU: 3/17/2014 7:44:17 AMWhy are you using an apostrophe to talk about Americans as a collective/plural?

I think our media just likes to give us as much information as possible on all major political figures. "Kate Middleton's dress lastnight was absolutely gorgeous."

6 RepliesAmerican ignorance here, but I don't understand why Brits put up with the monarchy, given that they stand as a representation of centuries of deplorable oppression, corruption, and incest. I would've thought they'd derive much more pride from eliminating the monarchy rather than keeping it around like a show dog.

1 ReplyIf the quantity of Yanks outside Buckingham Palace is anything to go by, they love a bit of royalty.

Just Caucasian female adolescents.

12 RepliesMost Americans like Honey Boo Boo, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore, etc. You get the pattern? USELESS RICH PEOPLE.

16 RepliesI think it is interesting but I don't want to be ruled by a monarch, I want a government that serves me and the interests of the people.

Your royals, are akin to our celebrities, the worshiping of both are pathetic.

I'm not sure you can look at wedding viewership as an indication that Americans like the monarchy so much as that Americans like watching very rich or very poor people do stuff. Good wedding ratings puts the royal couple in the company of Kim Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson.

Americans like royals the same way I like American politics: it's fun to watch, but holy hell I would not want to live under that shambolic mess. Luckily, the importance of the monarchy in the commonwealth more or less boils down to the face on the back of the coins, so nobody really has to live under it.

Only women bored with their own lives. A lot of people here liked Princess Diana for she wasn't the typical Royal. She was a humanitarian. But as far as the whole Monarchy thing goes, I truly do not understand why they still exist. Giving so much to those people, for what?

5 RepliesYeaap. They regret the whole revolution thing.
