Im seeing a few posts not liking it and saying how it's the elite trying to ruin the game.
But I've not yet seen anyone engage with what was actually said.
For context it was this:

There was Gladd's video in my feed, right under Salta's post, "Dul Incaru Div only". I call that massive bs, dude used arc souls too.

4 RepliesI'm gonna make two separate comments because I have a quick question for anyone that knows the answer: does whisper's perk not activate on div bubbles?

1 ReplyMy take is that it blames overall super samey boss design (at least with regards to raids) on a single weapon. Most raid bosses are very much "stand in a spot and shoot big enemy, occasionally shifting spots sometimes" after the mechanics are executed. Frankly, the perceived issue is fixed by having bosses where the mechanics are tied to damage and avoiding a wipe, rather than activating a DPS phase.

I think destiny needs new community leaders. This game has probably the worst streamers in gaming. I can’t believe how much they want things catered so they can feel special. “Hey bungie, too many average joes can complete the raid “ nerf this gun that I’ve been using because the casual players are using it now. Anybody subbed to these dudes is an idiot

2 RepliesPersonally, I feel like div is an exotic that's in a perfect spot. Generally, you don't want any weapon to feel like a must have, but it's in a good spot because you only ever feel like one person must have it, as opposed to weapons like G horn or whisper where everyone not running it is a detriment. In terms of his specific feedback, my only real issue with it is having it remove any & all debuffs. If someone wants to save their abilities to stack with div for dps phases, I don't see a problem with it. I get that his goal is to give players the option to pass on it for more damage, but I don't think that's a choice that needs to be made for the health of the game. It turns div from a strong option to only a nice option for people that can't hit their crits.

It's a raid gun that apparently a lot of people struggled to do. (My clan leader only got the gun last season since the raid came out, had to help him along with my other pve friends that are nuts. I've also helped people in the past year to obtain the gun when they've struggled themselves). The gun sacrifices one person's dps to buff others dps. The game is not a competitive game so why should everything be harder or "more skillful". It doesn't actually break the game in any shape or form. Div isn't actually necessary in any pve encounter, it can just be "nice" to have one. Personally I don't care if it gets nerfed due to the fact i rarely use it or have teams using it. Plus I prefer the pvp side of the game. But do I think it should be nerfed, well weighing in "the casual, inexperienced players" who don't have much time to do most pve content, then I'm gonna go with no it shouldn't be nerfed. But if the gun gets nerfed I can forsee a large number of people leaving the game, not because of the div nerf but because "bungie listened to a streamer". And we all know there is a lot of streamer haters in this forum alone (not me) and these people would probably see it as a last straw and just stop playing the game where they see it as "bungie only caters to streamers" when even I know they dont.

That's it's singular job. The weapon fulfills a purpose which is served by the cost of using it, and losing a single teammate. That's it. That's what it was made for, and nerfing it would defang it's purpose and overall role. At the same time why would anyone use Divinity if it's going to harm damage output? If you can hit your shots, you don't need Divinity anyway. So this just hurts those that do use it. It's a sneaky little nerf, and the real reason why was said nonchalantly in the post. That it would make Contest mode more interesting. That was the true purpose of this idea and post.

My take… Bungie is going crazy with the power fantasy right now… And I say just roll with it.
