Stasis needs a buff. Just finally started to use it and man…

It can’t really compete against supers, gun fights, or abilities being tossed around. It’s just taking L’s and while I wasn’t a fan of how strong it was a year ago, it’s kinda unfair how everything else received more if a significant buff than Stasis.

  • About the only thing I hate is the titan's absolutely garbage melee ability. There definitely needs to be some new melees and grenades added. A grenade suggestion would be a frag grenade type (like the flashbang, incendiary, and suppression ones) that would explode dealing damage and inflict high levels of slow.

  • Stasis warlock is top tier. As is Hunter if you use Bakris. Titan is garbage though.

  • Titan stasis needs a whole makeover. It’s just fists of havoc but slow. It’s trash in crucible and kind of effective in PvE. Really only good for holding off hordes and slowing down some bosses that move around a lot.

  • It’s so true. Even Shadebinder isn’t all that great despite what people will tell you. They say it’s so great because it does well in endgame content such as GM’s, while in reality the it suffers pretty bad outside of it, in the vast majority of the game’s content. This is because the subclass’s pace can’t even come close to keeping up with something like a Voidwalker. In the time it takes for another thing to be frozen in low-mid level content, I could have killed five or more enemies so why waste time on stasis when I’m running that regular content? That’s also not taking into account how garbage the super is, especially when using it without iceflare bolts equipped. Don’t get me wrong, the super is great where literally all of the enemies are packed up and there’s lots of them, but apart from that it just plain and simple is not nearly as effective or efficient as most of supers. The only super it beats is Daybreak and that’s saying something lol. I could even do more in a well with a gun and some ‘nades. 😂 Even in content like the Witchqueen legendary campaign I actually found that not only did I kill things faster, but I had higher survival rates while using Void over stasis. I tried using stasis and it ended up actually slowing me down and making it harder for myself in general. Like I said only the highest end content makes stasis shine since you can’t really kill things faster than they can be frozen anyways. All stuff should be good in all places imo. There’s always gonna be things that shine over others. I think all of the two-step BS on the super and abilities make it harder too. Why ain’t grenades killing things? Why do I need to freeze and then shatter to do anything in terms of damage? I just think it could be made to better compete against Light 3.0 in all levels of content. Not just Shadebinder, but all three Stasis subclasses, and really Stasis as a whole element tbh.

  • Yeah dude for sure. I remember bungie wanted to "bring it in line" with the light subclasses by nerfing it a ton, but then the buffed the crap out of the light classes and stasis was left in the dirt.

  • They've definitely been power-crept by the Light 3.0s. Some buffs I think that would help Stasis be in line with Arc, Solar, and Void: Make Stasis Shards baseline, similar to Ionic Traces from Arc. Would also free up an Aspect, bringing them down to 3 like the rest. Give Stasis access to positive "verbs", like Devour to Void or Radiant to Solar. Something like Fortify that's a flat damage reduction that can counteract the effects of Weaken and Radiant. Give more Fragment slots to underutilized or power-crept Aspects. Winter Shroud and Shatterdive should have 2 slots, Cryoclasm should have 2, as well as Frozen Pulse. Give Stasis new supers. A one-and-done for Behemoths, a roaming for Revenants, and a damage-support (non-roaming) for Shadebinders. Idk, something like an arsenal of Stasis turrets?!

      • I exclusively use warlock stasis in the crucible. The 3.0 reworks have shafted warlock so I went back to stasis. Hunters and titans can have all of the abilities in the world because they are bungies favorites. I just freeze them them punch them.

        • Warlock is actually really really good. Hunter's only big trick is using the melee for auto-loading in PvE, and the super is a fire and forget for bosses. It's a bit Garbo in PvP. Behemoth can play around Shards and Chains. But the former is done better by Sentinel (weaker shield, but less investment used to get it), and the latter just got hit a decent enough chunk, so while still workable, it's not worth. Also doesn't help the super is really meh in PvE, since I think the crystals actually do a LOT of damage there, complete garbage in PvP.

Shadebinder is very good and behemoth is solid. They are some of the hardest kits to use in the game though. The shadebinder melee can be uncounterable in close range but it takes a lot of aim and skill to use consistently. Same with the freeze rift, you have to be insanely keen at reading engagements, but the range on it is insane and it stops shotgun apes in their tracks when they never expect it. Duskfields and glaciers can be great for map control and the super is amazing for shutdowns. Behemoth can give you an almost neverending cycle of abilities if you have good stats and use the right exotics. Constantly having either a glacier grenade, a shiver strike, a howl of the storm, a shatterslide, or a barricade makes you very oppressive. The overshield from shards is very good. Only problem, the super sucks

          • Stasis on all characters needs 5 more grenade options, some that actually do damage.. ex a hailstorm grenade that acts like a storm grenade.. each class needs another melee and super added to it...

Depends on which class: Warlocks are still goated with Stasis, there's just no competition. Their control over the battlefield is unmatched and they can totally save GM runs if things go south. They lack boss damage, but I'd argue that's actually a good thing, because you can use your weapons for that. It's also very good in PvP, extremely reliable and you can see success with it as long as you don't charge into a firing line while in Super. Use that powerful mobility and shut down enemy roaming Supers with very little risk. Behemoth is actually really fun to play, but it doesn't get the free melee recharge like other classes do if you don't connect with anything, so it's not as mobile. I love running it in PvE and just generating tons of wells/shards and getting my abilities back almost instantly while clearing entire rooms of ads. The Super is pretty finnicky as far as Supers go and takes some getting used to in order to get the best out of it though. Revenant is... well, I personally think it needs help. Shatterdive was its major selling point, but now the class kinda feels really weak if you aren't running Renewals. The unique aspects are kinda meme-y, there's not much synergy with them. The grenade changes can be fun to mess around with (put someone in jail with upgraded Glacials), but otherwise it just feels like Hunter without any gimmicks. Shurikens are absolute trash in PvP, can't even kill someone in red health and have pretty poor tracking, they will absolutely rob you of kills you could've secured with an uncharged melee attack. Their only real use is ad clear in low difficulty content. Silence and Squall is probably the most polarizing topic (no pun intended). When it works, it works great, but you're at the mercy of the AI's pathing, so it lacks consistency. Sometimes the Squall will just find a corner to sulk in, instead of actually doing anything. At least the Kamas can actually OHKO enemy Guardians (unlike Deadfall, why doesn't the biggest skill-shot Super in the game not kill on impact?)

            • Stasis really just need a more options. Warlocks have a single Stasis exotic, while Hunters and Titans aren’t faring better with 2 each. Only 3 grenade options, one melee option, and one super option for each class. I know some of what we have could use tweaking, but it could be that they’re not great because of how limited they are. Except the Titan super, that thing is hot garbage, and is the thing holding back the subclass, just like Chaos Reach for Arc Warlocks.

              • Stasis just needs more variety. Its solid, and really the only things I think would actually need a buff is the Warlock melee and Behemoth's super. Beyond that need more options in abilities. New grenades, maybe new supers, new melees. Stasis is still solid and good for punishing apes and corner campers, but right now the current mindset is to sit back with a sniper and swap to HC or Sidearm for the finish off.... or just abuse Omni 2.0 that is Gyrfalcon.

                  • What happened to Stasis was the marketing-buff. It was super strong upon release to sell product. Then got nerfed real bad. You can count on the same happening to Strand.

                    • For real. It was nerfed so hard because of pvp is not worth much running, you can get away a bit with warlock but with titan, and hunter it needs help.
