I think we should be able to gift people legendary shards. I have more than enough shards to give away. Imagine some new lights reaction if all of a sudden they receive 300 or more shards from a random Guardian.

Gifting/trading would open up another massive marketplace alongside recov/carry services.
-
9 RepliesNO, absolutely not. Bungie already does little enough to enforce the end user agreement with all the paid carries etc and now you want to add a way to have players sell you for real money shards lol. Good grief. This would turn into WOW right quick with players selling you shards so you dont have to farm them. No NO NONONONONONONONONONO
-
That'd be cool
-
I think it would be good if we could but them and other items in a clan loot pool, or to specific clan members
-
6 RepliesThis is a great idea! And beyond randoms, could be an awesome incentive to new players being guided into the game by their friends. Legendary shard costs can be extremely off putting to New Lights.
-
1 ReplyHave you already created your website that lets people buy "gifted" shards from "friends" or are you going to wait to see if Bungie is stupid enough to allow it?
-
-
Wouldn't happen. Play time would instantly drop by 25%. Bungie won't risk it.
-
Could you imagine if you could trade high stat armor for shards or something. Or for exotics.

Sadly people would be selling them or trading for carries or recov. I'd happily give you 20k right now. Even 40k. I haven't been below 80k for ages -
It’s a nice thought but Bungie already has enough problems with the in-game economy, this would destabilize it completely.
-
5 RepliesYou should be able to gift weapons and gear, too! Absolutely no way for it to backfire!
-
5 RepliesI think it would be cool to have some sort of trading system with other players. You have a roll on a weapon I like and I'll trade you for something I may have that you want.

Thats gonna add a whole lot of “PlZ pLz LegEndARy shARds I haVe cOvID 78” I think only your friends should be able to gift a maximum of around 10-50 a week. Then again, it would be funny to see the reaction of a new light getting tons of shards -
Haha, I could probably make some strangers day and drop about 10k on them. Not sure I'd ever miss it.
-
4 RepliesWhen I was a very high level player in Division 2 I would log in each week, invite a random low level player into my party and share the weekly exotic with them, there was a lot of happy but bemused new players lol. I don't really understand why it ain't a thing in destiny to be honest, it would help those dudes that run 50 VOG and don't get vex but their teammate has had it drop three times, if you could share gear for an hour but only with party members from the activity it'd lighten that particular part of the grind.
-
2 RepliesThe only reason this is not a thing is because players would sell them and bungie doesn’t want players abusing a system like that.

Oooor.... The New Light Starter Pack for 5,000 Silver. Comes with useful materials.

1 ReplyHaving a trade system and gift system would be amazing.
