Most powerful class lore wise

What is the most powerful class lore wise? I assume that warlocks are on average more powerful that the other classes simply because of feats. New lights are usually about the same strength regardless of class, but if you compare the most powerful titans to the most powerful warlocks to the most powerful hunters, warlocks are usually stronger. For example, toland was killed by Crota and lost his light, but he lives on as a ascendant being. While he doesn’t have any real offensive capability in this form, he can’t really be killed either. Let’s list the capabilities of truly powerful guardians. Ikora has nearly unlimited light, as she has cast two supers back to back without a second thought, meaning that she can cast more. This is because she started off by using both supers. She is regarded as very intelligent, and if this is true, then she wouldn’t use up all of her light at once, meaning that she has plenty more in storage. She is also capable of applying ‘glide’ in advanced ways such as flying, and can even apply glide to other objects(the EAZ). Now let’s talk about saint. He is considered to be the most powerful titan of all time, and has fought the vex for centuries before falling. When we assisted him however, he struggled to hold up his bubble(which is understandable, but the fact remains). As far as raw power, I’d say that he is about even with ikora, but because ikora is a warlock, she simply has more knowledge and is more refined on wielding the light. This makes her more powerful. Now let’s talk about self res. Most guardians that have a permanent death die because they lose their ghosts. Their ghost looks at their corpse and is killed by what killed the guardian. However, a guardian with limitless light like ikora would tell her ghost not to revive her and simply self res after every death. She probably won’t use any unnecessary light and just cancel radiance after the self res. This makes skilled warlocks practically unkillable. Keep in mind that some trademarks of the other classes were first figured out and taught by warlocks. Ex: blink. I will add to this post as I need to, but the lore seems to say that warlocks are the most powerful. Maybe bungie didn’t intend a lot of this, but if several things are possible in the lore, then they stack. This creates unimaginably high ceiling potential of characters that can theoretically use certain abilities. Titans protect, hunters explore, and warlocks study. This study leads to refinement of the light that the other classes could only achieve if they live the warlock lifestyle of research, making them become warlocks.

  • I'd go by whichever one has been nerfed the most.

  • I would say saint, Ikora for they're respected classes. Hunter is tricky but I would love to believe that Shin is. Anna is strong too but Shin is known to be powerful and we still don't know what he is fully capable of, I just wish we could see him in game.......

    • Not Sure if they would be the most powerful but I think hunters have an edge. while warlocks study, and titans defend, hunters are out in the field refining their light and applying to real combat situations. Warlocks may have more sheer volume of light and power but I believe hunters have more skill and are more creative with how they use their light. This can be reflected with how their abilities work, warlock abilities tend to be formless and straight forward uses of light. like a void blast or solar balls or turning themselves into a living bomb, but hunters abilities tend to function more as tools, like burning knives or smoke bombs or staffs, or even a bundle of grenades put together

      • I think they are each powerful in their own right, like titans are probably strongest in raw large scale combat, warlocks are light masterers and hunters are experts at stealth and sabotage type thing

      • I’d go with warlocks overall but there are outliers in each class, ana bray is actually OP, as is ikora, saint maybe too through sheer resilience alone lol

I kindly disagree with measuring class strength as 1# most notable light bearers are outliers not the norm #2 classes basically in lore just a form of organization and likely standardized training for new light bearers. "Theory" I think it is likely that most light bearers stick with what they are taught and don't spend time on learning or developing new tricks is due to the base line training is good enough so many guardians may view it as unnecessary or too boring to do. I do think "warlocks" may have a tendency for having a higher turn out of stronger light bearers due to most light bearers with a more scholarly outlook funneled into the class leaving titans and hunters more narrow minded with what they can do with light as a whole.

          • I think Osiris, Saint and Ana Bray were generally regarded as the 3 strongest. And it’s no coincidence that they represent all 3. Bungie wouldn’t make any class above the other in the lore or anywhere else.

            • I think Titans have more notable powerful people. Which makes sense since they are the primary defensive and offensive line.

Each class has standouts. Not sure if it’s worth putting one above the other. Ana Bray’s GG is legendary. Wei Ning apparently punched a mountain so hard it moved. Osiris carried the six fronts with his Echoes. Etc, etc, etc.
