Is it happening with all PS4 users? After a PS system update earlier today, Destiny 2 is re-downloading the whole game all over again? It started with Content pack 3 then it's proceeding with 60+ GB. What's going on? Why I'm re-downloading a game I just played few hours ago? This messed up, I had to purchase a PS only download package from my Internet provider and Destiny 2 will eat half of it.

Yeah it's pretty annoying. Especially since it will only download one at a time then force me to restart the game before it will download another. So I can't even just leave it to go in one go, I have to come back every four hours to start the next one. Not the end of the world but certainly a bit aggravating. I can only imagine how frustrated people with really slow (or worse, limited capacity), internet must be.

Final update: I have moved the Destiny data back to external HD. Everything seems to be working. Hopefully, this will help some.

Loooove how Bungie has said nothing on the manner. Way to support and appreciate your fan base Bungo...

OK, so I fell asleep waiting for this junk. I completely re-downloaded D2 directly on the console and it does work now, including all DLCs and everything. So if you're having issues, disconnect your external and force it to download straight to the console. I'm going to try to move it to my external later, but for right now, I'm gonna game and relax a bit.

2 RepliesHi there. Playstation has released an update that for some reason has uninstalled D2 for players. If this has occurred to you, you will need to reinstall the game. We would also recommend reporting the issue to Playstation Support to investigate. If you run into problems downloading or installing, please follow the troubleshooting steps in this article. If you continue to have issues installing, contact Playstation Support for help.

Thank you for being the person to talk about this but I literally just had it happen to me when I had an entire day planned to farm just tossed out the window and I will not be able to get what I need.. All thanks to Playstation and Bungie
-
3 Repliessame thing happened to me, i thought my console was on the fritz, thanks again bungie, if this happens again, goodbye destiny 2.
-
You will likely have to manually redownload all 3 required content packs. When I did, it fixed my game instantly
-
Well glad to report after 7 and 1/2 hours I can now play. I should have gone in to work on my offday. I would be getting home now.

Same problem. I have a PS4 Pro w/Destiny on the external SSD. I too am forced to download 66 GB, even though the game files are still on the external. Seems that PS 10.0 update broke something.
-
yeah the same thing just happend to me. i thought it was me but guess it'd just a bungie thing again. does anyone know if you loose gained content or it still there ?
-
1 ReplySome other PS4 player also are unable to access the game after the Lightfall pre-orders they could be trying to fix that as well.
-
4 RepliesI spent the time downloading this travesty. It did not update. Now I am downloading it again. What the -blam!- is this fresh hell? Can we get someone on here who knows what is actually happening?
-
Yep. 2nd time this week. Did it Sunday. Then again this morning 9/7/22. Da fuuuuuh.....

3 RepliesEdited by KyngKryss: 9/7/2022 2:20:33 PMYeah, it just happened to me. Its starting the content 3 dl now, but Im sure I have it already. You mean its going to hit me with 60GB after this! Oh no. It was Playstation System Update 10.00. Just a change to zoom and direct typing with PC or Mac keyboards. Two minor changes to the PS4 and PS5 system software. This will have us down all day or more. Can bungie even do anything?
-
7 RepliesRe-downloading the entire game 3rd time now where all the times the PlayStation software has been updated. Bungie claims it's PlayStation's fault but all my other games doesn't have this issue. So the most logical reason must be Bungie having problems? PlayStation Support will most likely tell you: ''Delete the game and re-install it and restart your console'' So in other words PlayStation players will have to re-install the game every time a PlayStation software update launches.
-
2 RepliesJust done the system update on my PS4 and loaded the game fine. No issues.
-
2 RepliesI spoke to Playstation support. They've instructed me to disconnect my external HD and re-download the game and it will work. (I have very little faith in this) I'm currently downloading direct to console to see what happens. I'll update when I know something more.
-
Also having to download D2 again, 67 GB. Eastern US @ 11AM 9/7/2022.
-
4 RepliesSame issue here. Really doesn't bode well how Sony already treats D2, and they just bought Bungie.
-
Yeah this happened last time when there was a ps update. I posted something about it earlier. This sucks cause most of the time I'll redownload all three content packs and go to launch and it'll say missing one of the three or all three packs.
-
Same here in UK. "Downloading content from playstation store 66.83GB" Occurred after System update grrrrr!
-
6 RepliesI heard some people lost their expansions and DLCs they have purchased after re-downloading? Can someone confirm because this is really getting on my nerves, I didn't spend all that money over the years just to lose everything I have paid for. This is messed up!
-
1 ReplyHappened to me as well. 9:45 est. I really hope I don't have to buy everything again.
