This is actually a rhetorical statement. I think raid drop percentages are lower for people that actually have a -blam!- ton of clears and that’s kind of busted

What’s even more hilarious, is the fact that it dropped for me right after I posted this…….

7 RepliesI've seen it happen so many times I'm almost certain is a mechanic Bungie has implemented into the game. The more you play the game, the worse your drop chances are. The less you play, the more likely you are to get good things (in order to keep you playing). It took me 91 looted clears to get 1K Voices, 81 to get Eyes of Tomorrow, 41 to get Vex, etc. Meanwhile, someone getting carried through the raid, the worst person on the team always seems to get it on their first clear lol.

2 RepliesJust got touch of malice on my first clear of king's fall. So it is just all rng, only got a doom of chelchis and no other weapons on the rest of my drops. I got the whole Armour set though, so could be worse.(and a touch of malice to boot, so I am not complaining.)
-
This is proven... Take a break, come back to the game... BANG, collect all exotics you don't have at First/Second atempt... Weather it's from Raids or Lost Sectors.
-
2 RepliesDestiny 2 is a game that actively punishes you for playing a lot. Its basically an abusive relationship.
-
1 ReplyNormally I'd agree because I usually get my raid exotic drop around clear 50-100 but KF I got 3 touch of malice's in my first 5 clears. Should be a guaranteed drop though after 20 or 30 looted clears

Edited by Shoto Todoroki: 9/9/2022 9:39:25 PMBest guess, it gets rid of those types of players that just want people to do all the heavy lifting so the casual can get the raid exotic without really trying, and then never bothering to help others by paying it forward. In a nutshell, I believe it's to reward those of us who grind, versus the casual F2P New Light that just wants to gain maximum benefit for the least amount of effort. Oh, and because it's called a Looter Shooter for a reason.

Edited by SteakBarbare92: 9/9/2022 2:07:49 PMOpen up streaming channel* Yo what's up guys we're doing a raid and hopefully we get it to drop. *get exotic. Hmmm interesting. Just kidding the rng is really random in this game... streamers just seems more lucky but they do play a lot.
-
Absolutely, see Bungie hires psychics to predict how many raid clears you're gonna get in your lifetime and lowers your drop chance accordingly. Absolutely, you've figured it out, I knew the "psychic analysis specialist" job opening meant something!
-
I agree with this.. I got the vex on my 3rd consecutive run of VOG. People I play with have always said I have tbh "luck"
-
3 RepliesI honestly think it’s the more hardcore players, at least in my group of eight or so players. The two people who don’t play that much because of college and work got it first and second try and everyone else who no life’s the game in my group has not gotten a single one to drop. About every raid I’ve been in, the blueberry or average player ends up getting the gun. I honestly think that the odds favor newer people players so once they get the gun, they get hooked on the game

10 RepliesIt's the only carrot on a stick that gets people back to play the raids. The raid population would plummet lower than it already is if everyone got it first run. This is the Bungie Hamster Wheel.

16 RepliesHWG Hamster Wheel Gaming You are literally running over your footsteps over and over again. Have fun. NOT!

2 RepliesMy friends that rarely play the game manage to get raid exotic drops within 5 runs (including 1 clan mate, that RARELY raids, that’s gotten 3 RNG exotics, each on their first run) but my friend that plays this game hours on end and does 3 full raid runs immediately on reset has yet to get a raid exotic within 25 runs This REALLY makes me feel like there’s some hidden playtime mechanic for RNG, it’s consistent for my clan that the people who play the game less get the RNG exotics the fastest Is it just an unlucky RNG experience? Possibly. But this goes all the way back to Scourge of the Past.
-
Artificially increasing playtime of content that would be heavily reduced with better more consistent means of getting it, making them look worse in terms of investment.
-
Got touch my first run, lucky ig
-
There probably is some sort of algorithm which brings this about. Me, personally, it doesnt bother me overmuch, I raid so often that I'll get em sooner or later. I can fully understand how others are less than pleased about this though. In my humble opinion, 20 full clears should guarantee the Exotic.
-
Because you need to get gud and buy more from eververse…
-
I've only done 10 clears of vow and haven't got the stupid pulse (I realise that isn't many). Luckily, I couldn't careless about it. I feel truly sorry for anyone who didn't get vex when there was was the fusion rifle mod. That was truly powerful.
-
7 RepliesThe chance should increase a little each time you don't get it. At 20 it's guaranteed.
-
3 RepliesFirst visit to VoG i got a Gjallarhorn the second visit i got another Gjallarhorn
-
This is the first time someone actually complained about rng without cp farming, props to you
-
For some reason, to which I am not complaining, the games RNG has been good to me. I got both Touch of Malice and Anarchy on my first clear of each raid, and Heartshadow on my first Duality clear. The only 2 raids I've done with random drops of their exotics were Kings Fall and Scourge of the Past. So, for all my nitpicking over balance and mechanics, the one thing I can't complain about is my exotic drop "luck". I want to do VoG, but I know that's going to be the raid that never drops the Vex...

Edited by ELDER31674: 9/8/2022 4:49:18 PMReason RNG be like not worthy even then best quest in destiny 1 were exotic quest's exp touch of malice now it an RNG drop that you may not even get after 100+run on all three class's so i ask you which is better a quest that give you it no matter what or an RNG roll so low you have a better chance hitting the lottery then getting the item for some reason. I even did a poll post on touch of malice for destiny 2 where i ask should it be a quest or RNG based over 100+ player's said quest vs 50+ player's vote RNG a 50% division between the two side's . That should tell bungie something RNG need to be Adjusted.
-
I still havent even seen any raid exotics drop at all which blows since raid exotics seem to be required to run the raids
