The lucent hive feel severly underutilized for how big in the story they were. With the gameplay loop getting stale over the years, I think a fun change would be to add fireteams of lucent hive into strikes - at random, you would get a notification along with a music change that the strike has been invaded by a fireteam of hive guardians. Just a thought

7 RepliesThey can replace champions. It would be a way better move. Make their res timer fast so theyre actually a tough challenge
-
tbh that'd be pretty sick
-
3 RepliesLucent hive should be in master kings fall
-
Would be a more interesting modifier than the stupid champion system if nothing else.

12 RepliesThey're literally not our enemy. We attacked them because we were jealous.

I don’t think regular strikes will ever be a challenge. Legend nightfalls are even to easy. This weeks nightfall can be two manned in around 12 minutes. I’ve never tried a grandmaster though I’d assume they’re tough but that would be the only option for a challenge I believe.
-
Been saying this since they announced them

3 RepliesStrikes need higher enemy density. As for difficulty, I wouldn't mind a bump but perhaps not everyone wants a difficulty spike. The lack of enemies is more of an issue, especially with D2 strikes.

Yea strikes need it, i wish strikes were just randomly generated boss's on different planet's that take you different paths everytime, would make it less boring, and they should remove the voice lines i hate hearing the same thing over and over.

3 RepliesBarrier gaurdian hive knight with bubble shield. Overload radiant well wizard. Spectral blade unstoppable acolyte.

3 RepliesEdited by Corrick II: 9/7/2022 2:40:53 PMI’ve said for years Bungie needs to start implementing and leveraging randomly generated content throughout the game. Even with the minor variation they added in strikes and playlists, it’s just too repetitive. If they really leaned into a random mix of enemies and encounters, things might feel more interesting than the usual grind we get day after day.

RockNotABoulderWho put you on the planet? ಠ__ಠ - old
Seems like a strike rework is on their list for the future. Kinda wish they'd focus on updating core playlists and big expansions only, but hey, seasons make them a -blam!- ton of money. -
This is actually a sick idea, never really considered invasions for pve content. Would give more uses for hive guardians since to be honest they aren’t very utilized in the game as a whole besides the campaign. Also bungie could use tormentors in a similar fashion, kinda like in warframe being invaded by the stalker, maybe on GMs have a small chance to drop cosmetics, etc.

4 RepliesI’d take lucent hive over champions any day
-
tell this to rushers on strikes, thats a problem to them. 😂😂
-
Get this person a job at Bungie, pronto Pete Parsons

Great idea. And from a story perspective, the Vex can move through the timeline and are interested in studying the light. So maybe we have a mission (exotic quest?) where we discover a vex mind has "teamed-up" with or forced some lucent hive into its service. They could be teleported in during the strike Vex style.
-
They should invade all content except crucible
-
I love this idea. It’s a lot like having both the taken and regular versions of some strikes in d1. We should have more variants of strikes to make them less monotonous. Also, add more enemies please :)
-
Thats a pretty good idea, they definitely feel overlooked as you stated for such a powerful foe that is at the same power level as a guardian lore wise
-
I don’t think that’d really be super cool or impactful in practice. Only difference is the obligatory finisher.

5 RepliesUh… idk. They’d have to redo the voice lines of characters then… also the strikes do follow a story so it’d be like time travel or something if Lucent hive invaded. I had an Idea for playing as Lucent hive and swap out the voice lines from Vanguard lines to Savathun as our handler. It’d still ruin the point of strikes as essentially replayable story beats. 🤔 they altered strikes in D1. There was a before TTK strikes then there was after TTK. A bunch of strikes changed slightly to reflect TTK event… same with ROI they gave us the Archon Splicer Priest and brought back Sepiks Prime with Siva… Some strikes went from kill cabal to kill taken and cabal… If they swapped out voice lines, created a new boss, altered the boss phase encounter just a bit. Replaced some of the ads with a different enemy type. 🤔 they could very well reprise strikes? I mean even back in Shadow Keep our nightmare hunts were essentially strikes we’ve done in D1. Or encounters we had through D2 previously. But will Bungie keep on with the “Ever evolving world” or just keep the old stuff and tweak it with additional mechanics? For instance Stasis and now upcoming Strand… like… it’s altering the strikes but not significantly just adding tether spots for the grapple hook. Imo that “ever evolving world” is as good as a political promise. It sounds good, gets peoples interests… but ultimately fails to deliver.

2 RepliesAs someone who has played the Tom Clancy's The Division series I can say with confidence that coming across an enemy group of rouge agents randomly after control points and set points in high level missions that something like this would help break the monotony of strikes and add much needed tension and difficulty to an otherwise samey and repetitive core activity.
-
That can’t happen unless you want destiny to have a 4th wall break
-
Nope, it messes with the story behind the strikes.
