Kinda helps understand exo and clovis

I don't know if it's been stated here, but just to maybe give a perspective on the daunting task of exo. Uh so, West World, is a great example. It's like how we are constantly selling our data, basically creating a portfolio of our likes vs dislikes. This ramps it up a notch or two...to ten. You interact with human behavior, though scripted, and they say things like "we are gathering data on you to tweek the hosts in future iterations, no other reason.". Then it's found out that they were collecting you, for a future version of you. Then there is Ford, mid season two, if you're not seeing parallels to clovis...you're not understanding the idea. "One hand eternity, the other infinity." At least here they're building consciousness, even baseline models of consciousness...though, like exo's, while they call it the "cognitive plateau", I think this is what DER is. On to my lighter side of consciousness, you have Upload. Great sitcom, but it has a barrier with it, and some things that I would no doubt put it past humanity to want to charge...gotta have power, gotta have agency over others. There was something else I wanted to bring up, not dealing with this, but TBI is fun times.

  • DER: Dissociative Exomind Rejection. Man i loved those little terminals on Mars. If memory serves it was the mind realizing "i cant breath, or feel, or eat, or sleep. Only answer: I'm dead." And then shut down.

I mean, they pretty much talked about this years ago. I remember people whining about it being too close to West World back in... ?Warmind? It was an early Destiny 2 content release. Back when Mars was still in the game, one of the Lost Sectors had a dialog track you could launch and it would tell you the basics. And it was SUSPICIOUSLY like West World even back then. They wanted to digitize human consciousness and put it in an immortal machine body. It worked great in theory, but as soon as it went into a mechanical body, the body would go crazy. So they implemented the various safeguards to prevent it. Meanwhile in West World we find out: they want to make humans immortal in mechanical bodies. But when they put them inside they eventually went glitchy and crazy. Even if they ran perfectly in VR. This was elaborated more and more in Beyond Light. But already back in ?Warmind? we already had the West World parallels.

      • You know, this got me thinking. I wonder if the Bray facilities' Eternity on Europa and the Eternity that Xûr inhabits are significantly tied other than nominally. Xûr's domain is in fact a paraversal joining of timelines, which is interesting when considering the Exo ties to the Vex and their dealings with alternate realities even on the metaphorical level where as guardians they have glimpses of memories from a life which no longer yet simultaneously does exist. Thoughts?
