Ya know, not everyone gets their way. Quitting because they got a map they don't like should honestly be punishable. That just dooms their team and a bad time and a potential string of quitters. But to compensate, add a function to vote for maps please. Like come on here.

  • Not a big deal in QP ….but in survival/ trials is weak disgusting behaviour.

  • Quitting penalties in zero stakes casual play is hilariously absurd.

  •

Quitting is hilariously absurd.
This what you meant?
Winning or losing is inconsequential in a casual environment. If that's true, then quitters are also inconsequential. Misplaced moral high ground better placed where actual stakes are involved.

Even if every map was regarded as "good", there would still be that one moron quitting just because he didn't like one map or his stats were tanking or there was an annoying playstyle in the lobby or whatever. Why should one player be able to protect their experience while simultaneously dooming that of 5 others? If every guardian is created equal, they shouldn't. And I think we can both agree control is hardly "casual" anymore.

There are no stakes for winning or losing. Just because they shoehorned SBMM into a casual playlist, doesn't suddenly get rid of the playlists original purpose; drop in, and yes drop out PvP. It's one of the most important distinctions from ranked play. This attitude towards quitting makes zero sense outside of a ranked environment. I would argue, if you genuinely hate quitters, or feel they negatively impact you (in general not you specifically), you're in the wrong playlist, and the playlist that protects you from just that, has existed for years. I think everyone has the right to leave, for whatever reasons they choose, in a stake free environment.

I mean a playlist with SBMM existed for years, but people didn't go there to get that. Clearly, there's something bringing people back to control.

Clearly, there's something bringing people back to control.
I’m willing to wager that a large part of the reason were the game modes, and not necessarily the SBMM. As an example, I pretty much only play solo Control and solo Iron Banner. I dislike 3v3 modes, especially when they don’t have solo queues. I played comp early in D2 only so I could earn my Luna’s Howl and Recluse… once I had earned them, I was DONE with that playlist because it wasn’t enjoyable.

  • Yes, map voting would be awesome. Also yes, leaving mid match should at the very least lock you out of the mode for like... 10 minutes.

  • Stop crying and play the map then. I hate the map and leave frequently just like i do in strikes.

  • Problem is there’s like 24 maps and disjunction comes up 1 in every 3 games

A map voting function would alleviate that.
