This 100%. SBMM has taken replayability from D2 for me. I do my pinnacles and stay off now. I used to play PvP for the week afterwards now that is completely unplayable between lag, horrible lobby balancing (for some reason in the game still), and foreigners being in my game every lobby is stupid too. Good thing connections mean nothing in this game now.

Sad but true unfortunately, there’s always a bigger fish. That’s kinda why I’m just enjoying what I can out pvp and try not to get attached to it.

Edited by Desolator0: 9/3/2022 10:01:01 PMCouldn't say it better myself. Fodder will stay fodder and continue crying online. Nothing will improve and they'll stay trash with their loser mindset. Good players can put themselves in the place of bad players because even good players used to be bad, but bad players can never put themselves in good players' shoes because they'll never take the time to get good. This is the fundamental issue with SBMM discussions.

I’ve said this for years. Players waiting to be coddled will never improve, regardless of what system changes are made. They admit they don’t practice and don’t try to have good teamwork and expect to find “fair” matches. Utter silliness.

Edited by Daemon White: 9/3/2022 5:09:52 PMThe issue with that sentiment is that we had the matchmaking equivalent of a Grade 8 bully hopping into the Kindergarten playground and beating them all up while feeling proud of themselves. Now the Grade 8 bully has to deal with people in his own class, and is upset that he can't beat up as many people as before.

It’s funny how every turd on these forums assumes good players don’t wanna fight good players. From sun up to sun down, you’re forced to play each match as if it’s the Olympics. And let’s say you have a couple good games. This algorithm will match you against players far better than the teammates you have, JUST BECAUSE YOURE GOOD. You’ll never know that feeling so please stop. -
Edited by Daemon White: 9/3/2022 5:57:10 PMI have experienced a high competitive game with highly skilled people, and I could not compete. And now you're assuming my stance and degrading because of it, amazing. Don't assume my history because of my Destiny 2 playtime.
I have experienced a high competitive game with highly skilled people, and I could not compete. And now you're assuming my stance and degrading because of it, amazing. Don't assume my history because of my Destiny 2 playtime.
Now imagine you being able to compete, but every game is the same stagnant mess. It’s like people who don’t have the skill are speaking on something they’ll never know the feeling of. Sbmm doesn’t work in quickplay, it works in an actual competitive environment where the rewards are worth sweating for. -
We're not going to see eye to eye on this. My take is that SBMM does and can work in quickplay. One issue is that the top players don't want to let go of their e-peen in order to relax more. If you don't want to sweat, then don't. Lose that KDA, Lose that win percentage. Drop your SBMM bracket to where it's fun again. Save that sweat for Trials and Survival, if comp ever gets a reason to actually play it. It's quickplay, so relax and stop caring about your D2Tracker stats in Control. Banner is next week and I believe will -not- be SBMM, I think Trials is the week after? There's also Clash and Momentum to slay out in. If the rewards aren't worth sweating over, then stop sweating for it. Throw matches if you want, don't worry about the scoreboards, just don't leave the matches either. Let SBMM do it's job and put you in better games.

That’s the difference between a farmer and a good player. We also won’t see eye to eye because you’ve only experienced the low skill spectrum of matches. I’ve experienced both and got gud -
You seem to think it's ego when it's logic. Don't want to sweat in high-skill lobbies? Then don't sweat, lose, and get better matches. Thirsty but tired of high sugar? Drink water instead, it doesn't taste as fun but you get healthier. I'm not checking your post history to see what you care about in PvP, I'm replying to your direct comment that started this whole thread. That's on you for assuming ego. I crammed all my sweat into Season 15. I grew as a PvP player drastically in that time, check my D2 Tracker history, I don't hide anything. But for all that Git Gud, I absolutely hated myself. I hated what position it put me in, I hated the lack of competitive matches, and I hated being a person who easily swept weaker opponents by the end of the season. Which sucked because I love D2's gunplay, I like trying my skill against other people while improving, and I loved being in Clash and Control. I was angry way too much, and far too quickly. Our experiences and ability to improve are not theirs. Bad players can never know what it's like to be good when they're constantly crushed into the dirt. They get slaughtered, disheartened, and leave.

You brought up Kda as if that’s something I care about. You bring up winning as if that’s something I care about. If I cared about competitive matches, I’d play comp. Or on a 7 win ticket in the flawless pool. People that just farm control definitely bring issues into pvp but what’s worst is having people play every normal match of quickplay as if it’s an all star game for cash.
YOU DONT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE IN HIGH SKILL LOBBIES
So don’t speak on it. -
You don't care about stats yet care about my experiences, while ignoring the points. Insufferable, have a day.
You don't care about stats yet care about my experiences, while ignoring the points. Insufferable, have a day.
Stats don’t mean anything. Just reading how accepting of Sbmm in a non skill based setting just speaks volumes on how much experience you lack. You have a day as well. -
