Stormcaller 3.0 is not good; needs buff old

The only good thing I’ve found on Arclock is the new Fallen Sunstar exotic in PvE with the ionic trace aspect and 3 fragments that also give Ionic traces. Pair that with Flux Grenades and Arc wells and you have a lot of uptime on a very powerful grenade. But that’s where it ends sadly, because both melees including the slide melee are not that good (the slide is very overrated and is more of a gimmick, and Ball Lightning is just complete and utter dog -blam!- and has been since Forsaken. Not to mention both of the supers are severely lacking in damage…

  • I think Arc Lock can be built in 2 different ways. Either you hard focus on Ionic Traces and thus total ability up time. Or you really commit to the slide melee. The former feels like it has more staying power in harder content not only because you won't be in danger but because you can easily and repeatedly cause jolt and blind with the right setups which offers crowd control over direct damage. Something that so far Stasis is the only way to get hard CC for. The slide melee damage isn't super strong even when built into so that and getting into danger with it sort of gates it from being used much outside Legend at most imo. However it [i]does[/i] add a more interesting and fun gameplay feel for general play which I don't think should be over looked. If I had to fault Arc Lock for anything It really would be just how the regular melee's don't really feel like they matter in anyway outside of maybe pvp. Arc buddies too but I feel like that as a concept can feel largely better if all Arc buddies acted like get away's version and they procced grenade based effects. Arc buddies are an interesting facet of gameplay in pvp and I feel like that's really what holds back their potential. Bungie potentially fearing having good turrets being too oppressive for it. For Getaway's sacrifice of a unique Arc buddy i'd just change it so in addition to it now amplifying you it also procs either Jolt or blind on whatever enemy it shoots.

  • The cool down on arc abilities took a bad turn. In low content not noticeable but once you can t on shoot ... you re screwed mate
