Just like the title says, I feel this would skyrocket the amount of customization and creativity available to players, and while I am no developer, I don't think this is a particularly difficult change to make.
For example, I saw an excellent hunter set taking advantage of the dark/pale green and black in the refurbished black armory shader. I wanted to replicate this on my titan... however despite my best efforts I could only get black and red (while yes this is what the shader is intended for; it just wasn't what I was aiming for).
As always, love you Bungie, love your game.

Edited by Emurinus: 9/3/2022 1:17:53 AMI've once suggested a custom shader UI where you can pick up to four shaders to make up a custom shader palette for your character. The menu would look similar to the emote menu and each shader would make up a quadrant (for a lack of better term) of the custom shader, using the color of its respective quadrant as the base. Let's use Calus's Selected as an example since it's 4 separately distinguishable colors. Putting the shader into the top slot lets you use the white coloring, but not the gold, black, or purple. Placing it into the bottom slot lets you use the purple, but not the white, gold, or black. I think you get the pattern by now. That all said, such an idea would probably never be added because it then ruins the point of making more shaders.
