You’re complaining about an exotic doing what it was created to do. Yes, they have been “nerfed.” No it was not a nerf. It was a bug that was being exploited by the coding of the gauntlets. They fixed the coding, fixing the armor, not nerfing it.

  • Yes by completely changing what it did and honestly making thunderclap worse while using it they didn’t nerf it… If you didn’t realize, probably because you don’t have it or want to use it. It was disabled twice, so if they only disable broken things then the after product is how the exotic is “intended” to work then the first time it was disabled was exactly how it was “intended” to be.

The last statement is false, given telesto has been disabled countless times and has worked as intended on multiple accounts between said disables. It’s not hard for coding to produce a bug and you have absolutely no idea how the exotic came to be. The product you have now could’ve been an overpowered machine that went through the chopping block or a null piece of exotic gear that got a bad tune up and isn’t preforming up to exotic standard. I don’t have the gauntlets as I picked back up my titan this season, but this is not the only example of a disabled piece getting called out for not working as intended. I’m sorry you got your hopes up over a new exotic that hasn’t gone through community testing, the phase where we have to find the bugs Bungie doesn’t want to recognize. Each new item that comes out is thrown through rigorous testing from content creators and Bungie has gotten spoiled from it. It shows when streamers say the piece is broke and it got disabled shortly after. Edit: how can an ability be worse when you have the ability to take off the piece of gear... everyone on the forums talking about blight ranger and I assume there’s a plethora of warlock exotics that became useless over time, or were just terrible to begin with.

  • Also counter point the gauntlets, seeing as telesto has been reworked constantly. First of all don’t curse these poor innocent exotics with the telesto comparison. Second of all they could, right now, also not be what bungie intends them to be telesto I still don’t think is what they intended it to be. There is next to no way of telling that this state of the exotic also isn’t a bug unless we know what bungie wants these arms to be. But that doesn’t mean we should let these fly under the radar. By the phrasing of these gauntlets they are meant to at least be able to do more than half a 1350 red bar dreg’s health. (Of which they can’t). If the community isn’t happy with it we will be vocal about it, I’ve been a Titan main for years and these arms are extremely underwhelming. Third and final point, equipping them seems to slightly lower the damage of thunderclap, it’s either that or the damage numbers are extremely inconsistent. That’s my soap box for today, thanks.

  • Telesto works exactly how Bungie wanted it to be, it’s problem is typically longevity or number crunching. Either the bolt entities will bug out or the calculating damage numbers are incorrect due to how a bolt landed and could hit a hit box. The weapon in itself was probably a bad example here but it is an example of an exotic that keeps getting disabled and works pretty similarly to how it was supposed to. Whether the gauntlets go through the “telesto treatment” is entirely an opinion. Exotic armor pieces come useless every once in awhile, if this were not the case then every new exotic would one-up the last in terms of being broken. Look at the titan helm for last season and the hunter gloves. Warlocks got an exotic but it was nowhere on par. The titan helm is now one of the most used exotics on the class or so it seems and the gloves have caused much rage. I believe that the gloves should’ve been disabled (Caliban’s) but technically I’m biased because I don’t use that melee in the first place. I don’t agree that they went disable crazy this season but titan arc 3.0 came cracked out the box. I feel like an exotic shouldn’t be the only reason to use a specific ability. Thunder crash got the treatment and since it was the best and everyone used it, I feel Bungie is following suit that every ability needs an exotic to be “good.” Although interesting that it lowers damage numbers. ima have to look into that and hopefully it’s just faulty damage numbers popping up as opposed to actually reducing the damage.

  • Well if I look at chromatic fire for example it kills a dreg in the explosion usually but this doesn’t even do anything. There’s a difference between being underused or worse and having borderline no change to the game when using an exotic. It’s like if chromatic fire did 1 damage rather than it’s usual damage. It’s not that it’s only bad it’s not a change from the normal game unless you consider tickling a dreg for 1,000 damage a significant difference, for reference your melee does something around 16k.

  • Yeah I’m going to agree that many pieces need to be looked at and tweaked to help the PvE experience. I just hope they don’t jump the gun and over-tune everything whenever they look at something, Similar to the grenade launcher scandal. I’m just disappointed that Bungie keeps disabling it instead of keeping a calmer attitude and allow the community to at least use the broken gear in PvE. Disable for pvp if necessary and being abused but why disable the entire gauntlets. People exploit anything and everything and it, in reality, would probably push people to use the items more later after a fix or buff.
