I don't play Crucible much anymore but putting skill matchmaking in what is intended to be the main casual playlist sounds like a good way to kill off the dedicated PvP players in the long run.
Actually, isn't that what has happened every time they've done this? Player engagement goes up the first few weeks and then plummets as people start to finish their seasonal grind..except instead of dedicated PvP players continuing to participate in the Crucible, they avoid it because it's a 24 hour sweatfest?

This has been the cycle of SB and CB MM for a sling as the games been around. There’s a reason it goes away and comes back. People forget why it left in the first place.
