She was.
She wanted out of the Devils Bargain they made with the Worm Gods (it was eventually going to kill them), and she saw the Traveler and the Light as her only way out.
So she defied The Witness’s efforts to destroy the Traveler, which helped to save us during the Collapse.
Bottomline, the Traveler has now given her The Light…and we have a seeming ally of convenience who we can’t trust, and we don’t know what game she’s really playing.

As far as trust goes I’m still debating over whether Mara can be fully trusted. She’s too calculated and off putting. -
She’s a sociopath. But she seems to be one that’s on our (or at least humanity’s) side. I wouldn’t trust her, either.

I would say I don’t necessarily think she was acting out of selfless intentions, but it’s possible to have more than one reason for taking an action. Though she took the idea that the ends justify the means to the extreme. -
Trust me. I don’t think Savathun has done anything selfless in the last billion years….

Her first lesson needed to be taught is personal boundies: - As we know from Psi ops battlegrounds, she infested the minds of fellow light bearing hive. Commanding them against any free will that was bestowed upon them for the light - No the traveller DID NOT WANT TO BE SEALED AWAY... More then anything it just wants to explore and never be in 1 place too long. - And for the love of god STOP MAKING AN ENEMY OF US, THE GUARDIAN... The incredible enormity of her past life sins still piss me off and it is frustrating that in her new life she is just doing evil -blam!- when it could be for good. Like finding the ruins of humanity and spreading her talent for redecorating in those areas. I cannot get over how much she has a talent for making things look the very nice... Oh and just rallying with us to stop the big bad.
