I mean to be perfectly honest most of us started out as bad players. Like for example if you look at my D1 stats i'm in the negatives but im positive for D2, I played when i was trash and i continued to play like various other people. If you play the game when your trash because its fun and you get better as a result it's kinda hard to say let me punish you for it by introducing SBMM into a casual playlist. Or if people want it that bad they could just have SBMM for control and give other people CBMM for clash and have both of them be permanent playlists.

Higher skilled player need to adapt their mindset to a world where they don’t have game where the majority of the other team is VASTLY less skilled than they are… which is how they built up the inflated KD ratios to begin with.

You forgot their egos, that's inflated also. The fancy number on the screen doesn't mean anything. Heck we don't have MLG destiny tournaments for a reason. Sure we have big(ish) streamers an CCs but that's it. *Lol ego challenge me bro* no because that's all you, isn't it ? -
Higher skilled player need to adapt their mindset to a world where they don’t have game where the majority of the other team is VASTLY less skilled than they are… which is how they built up the inflated KD ratios to begin with.
This can be said the same for casual players, in the reverse. If both sides stopped pointing fingers at each other and directed their attention to lobby balancing instead of making the excuse of “inflating KDS” or other pointless terms that I’ve seen, I think the problem could be addressed

Instead, they listen to the 0.6 KD robots who play 3 games/week and hop out. Lobby balancing and dedicated servers should've been their #1 priority before even thinking about SBMM. You're 100% correct.

Transparent rankings could help… but I stand by my statement. EVERYONE wants better/more casual matches in a casual playlist. The problem is that reaching that in practice CAN only ever happen by separating the skill outliers from ever seeing each other and consequently lowering the success/win/kd/whatever stat the highly skilled character is looking at (precisely because those outliers are gone). The sad truth is that for that to happen, low skill player have nowhere to go but up and high skill players have nowhere to go but down. The goal for Bungie HAS to be better experiences for the majority of players which was to say is more matches where players feel they have a chance in the fight. CBMM wasn’t providing that anymore (if it ever did). PvP had been hemorrhaging players for going on two years.

Edited by DisgustingHoonterMain: 9/3/2022 1:16:55 AMnot true, i started playing again in the beginning of witch queen (last time i played i was on ps4, season of opulence) i was garbo 0.60 kd, began watching videos/streams, looking at the player's loadouts/playstyle if we were mercied or we mercied them. every stomp was a lesson for me. but there was always one reason that i could never avoid that was being stomped by shitty lobby balancing. i could grow and grow in skill but if my teammates were being farmed by the other side, it was a loss. SBMM wasn't the answer, lobby balancing was, currently higher skill lobbies for my region (north europe) is horrible, keep landing against streamers that are in NA West, feels like im also landing against asia regions, lagging constantly. also whenever i win 1 game i lose another and the cycle continue, SBMM in every game has always been designed on you having 50/50 win/loss, feels unrewarding in every way knowing that. Seperating the bottom 20% from the top 20% is true, but seperating everybody by K/D Win/loss has killed most multiplayer games, why do you think CoD multiplayer is dying out, and everybody is playing Warzone, because SBMM already decided whether you could actually fight your opponents or not, SBMM does reward the lower skill players with some kills in the matches they've been designed to win Edit: and dedicated servers are needed -_-

You can't argue with robots. They will never listen to reason. They have never played another PvP game with SBMM and realize what it's done to their populations. You are 100% right, but these people cannot argue against you so they smash the downvote instead. Don't stop posting 100% facts man.

Edited by SirEman80: 9/3/2022 5:52:20 AMNo matter how loose or tight sbmm is… higher skill players are going to see some drop in performance metrics due to the removal of the vastly lower skilled players their high stats were partially built on. If there are 100 players and the bottom twenty in skill are removed from the pool, the top 5 are going to see a drop in their performance stats over time. They might still be the top 5, but their win ratio or kd or whatever might go from 75% to 60% because there are fewer bad players to pad those stats. And I’m not implying that they are intending to pad stats (though some people try to). But the stats are padded by those lower skilled players increasing kill counts and streaks. It’s just the way stats work.

Edited by DisgustingHoonterMain: 9/3/2022 7:01:33 AMnow don't mind the dude that called you a robot, But how i envisioned protecting the bottom 20% from the top 20-30% was having it so they can't be in lobbies together, so the bottom 20% can still play with 70-80% of the players but not the top 20% and vice versa, and yeah any game you can track your stats in people are gonna be toxic, i remember getting bombarded with racial slurs and shi for having a lower k/d in the older CoDs. i just think there was a better way, cause currently finding games in the higher skill bracket takes forever, and then the connection is awful. i would've rather seen lobby balancing then punishing higher skilled players with shitty connections and horrible queue times. oh and also the fact there were more people playing crucible this season than the last, is because of epic games sponsor, but nah it's probably because everybody was oh so hyped for SBMM Edit: and idgaf about stats, i just liked seeing my performance going up and up. contributing to teams have massive anxiety if im bottom of the leaderboards
