I've learned to play better by matching against players way above my skill.
Some take it as a learning experience others get insulted by it. I don't enjoy playing against players of equal or worse skill. Its boring. I've always enjoyed versusing harder players as it makes me play better.
Now I'll just play down to match the skill of the players the game is putting me up against.

I agree. I’ve said the same thing and the rebuttal is how can I learn from getting killed. Just tells me the below average player is not only lacking in skill but doesn’t have the mindset for competitive pvp. Catering to that group will only make pvp trash.

Only incredibly strict SBMM will match you against players of the same skill (if it’s even possible). Incredibly strict SBMM doesn’t exist in Destiny. You’ll still be matched against players above and below, but the skill gap between players won’t be as wide as in CBMM. I take your point about preferring to learn in CBMM, though. It’s a preference that many players have.

I wouldn't mind SBMM if the connection was consistent and reliable. If your going to force me into SBMM atleast let me pick the continent I want to compete against .

I tried to avoid talking about technical preferences like queue time and connection quality, because that’s a whole other can of worms. Admittedly, it is related, but I wanted to focus on the different motivations players have for competing in PvP, since this is where a lot of misunderstandings cause arguments. There are sweats saying bad players only want SBMM because they are scared of playing better players. There are scrubs saying good players only want CBMM because they’re scared of having a fair fight. I don’t think either of those statements comes close to painting the full picture.
