Hello there,
Your cross save is currently enabled with your Stadia account being the active save file. Bungie does not have access to your Steam account. Cross save using the linkage you set up when you configure the cross save. If you switch Steam accounts (or any platform account) It does not update, your linkage is still to the original account you linked. If you would like to change Steam accounts you would need to disable cross save, wait any necessary cool downs, then reactivate after changing the linkages.

The problem is that I can't. Because Bungie does not detect that I did not switch steam accounts and instead just changed the name it isn't registering my log-in when I tried to deactivate it (since you have to authenticate to deactivate). It is literally the same account just with a new name.

Can you please share a screenshot of what you see on the character select screen when playing on Steam?

Edited by Ejahmix: 9/2/2022 5:52:38 PMThis is it right here with new character I made on steam and a different Bungie name. One thing to note however is that originally It showed my current and then switched to this one. https://ibb.co/Th6d7CN

The issue you're running into isn't because Bungie says you're using an entirely different account; it's because you are, indeed, using an entirely different Steam ID to log in on the Steam Client than the one you set up with Cross-Save. Changing your Steam Display Name will have absolutely no effect on Cross-Save or the linked accounts, as the Display Name is purely cosmetic; all that matters is the Steam ID, which doesn't change at all. This is normally caused by trying to log in with a different Username than the one actually attached to your -normal- account or through logging in with an email when authenticating the connection to Bungie.net with the Cross-Save. Doing so, for the people that this affects, actually logs them into an account that they have usually forgotten about. Please note that the SteamCommunity website will not show a profile that has not been fully set up, even if the profile does actually exist. Ideally, you used the same email for both accounts, and if that's the case, you can find out the login username by going to Steam's website, logging out, and then using the forgotten username/password link on the log-in page. Failing that, please try logging in on Steam using what you would think the username would have been (not the email). For example, Try logging into steam with the username KingEli2002 to see if that works. The password should be the same as normal, since you did log into it when linking it to Bungie.net.
