Emblem for serving and military veteran gamers.

It would be nice to have an emblem for serving or veteran gamers. Or to be honest anyone who supports the people who serve they’re country regardless of where their from in the world.

  • As a Marine veteran and a titan main i could care less about such emblem. I join the military because as a kid i seen 9/11 happen. When i got home from school that day all i seen was US Marines kicking down doors, looking for the people responsible for what happen and from that moment on i made up my mind to become one. Most people joined to serve this country and not for recognition . Me personally i get nervous or annoyed when someone thanks me for my service because my initial thought if anyone is to be thanked its my brothers and sisters in arms laying in rest at Arlington cemetery. So what does Marines and titans have in common
we’re both seen as crayon eaters
• I agree. People who join the Japanese defense forces deserve an emblem. Oh wait. You meant just US military? You’re aware this is a game played around the world right?

        • Listen up, let me break this down 'barney-style' for you. Bungie is located in the US state of Washington, but it is not a US company. Bungie is an international company, with people from around the globe. Bungie is not going to make a military/vet emblem for your specific nation. Bungie loves everyone, you might not. Bungie doesn't want political world drama, for x-person with one emblem hating y-person with other emblem. If you are in a military and proud of your patriotism for your country thats great, broaden your perspective. If you are a real veteran then you probably don't want the recognition as you have served your part. (also probably trauma) Pride is the downfall of any great nation, look to Rome...

          • So you want people to know you served because serving alone isn’t enough?

          • I don't get this comment section. We allow emblems and banners for the LGBT but not emblems in support of veterans and military? I'd rather have none but Bungie made it fair game.

            • Why? Nurses, doctors, policemen, almost every other necessary job aswell, would all need an emblem. There's plenty of important jobs that don't nearly get the appreciation they deserve. Why do you think you are special? You are doing your duty just as much as all the good peeps do in those jobs as well as many others.

Active duty here. Please stop asking for emblems and crap. We don't need recognition from anyone except our brothers/sisters in arms to the left and right of us. Least of all a bunch of people who wouldn't know selfless service and honor if it reached out and smacked them in the face. Also we have first responders, doctors, nurses, firefighters.

I chose it. If they do add an emblem I’d hope it covers every call to service position. Police, doctors, paramedics, firefighters, etc. the same is true there as well. People in these fields did it cause they chose to do so and most of us do not need or want to be rewarded. The service was it’s own reward in my honest opinion. My opinion might be a tough take, but that’s the beauty of our country, we are allowed to have opposing opinions and views.

                      • I believe they tweeted out they wouldn't do it because their game reaches players globally, or something to that extent. Happened around the time they celebrated an lbgt emblem on veterans day if I remember correctly.

                        • Is that going to include military personnel engaged in invasions or such? Because extending that to any military anywhere means that could happen. That's going cause some rancor for others playing the game, to be sure. This is probably a dog that should be left sleeping.

                          • No thx. From a guy who is deployed enough in my life. Let’s keep that part where it belongs there is a place and time for stuff when I am playing destiny let me play destiny without any political/woke, or any movement that is currently going on. All this stuff with medals and participation medals it’s all good where we are now, also I don’t want ppl on the bungie from to know maybe where I have been or what I have done. This game is wide played over the world ppl may not agree with all the stuff that I have or haven’t done. Not only that where do you draw the line. In service, must have been deployed? So under what Flagg.. UN,nato, oef,ISAF, I mean the list go’s on and on.. are the soldiers who are fight in Ukraine with a national Russian also get this emblem? There are also doing there duty. Someone is giving them orders. So no what your asking raise more questions then need to be awnser. Let’s destiny be a mutual ground where I don’t have the identity of some actions that must done around the world. This can only be ask for by ppl who ether truly support the troops and there sacrifices or ppl who just joined the forces and haven’t see the ugly side of war. And both of those groups thx for the suggestion but no thx

Is there really a need though? This is an example of what people think another demographic wants. All they want to do at this point is just sit down and chill with the rest of us, they’ve earned it. Just give them the same respect you would give to any other person, and respect their boundaries.

                            • Being a vet isn't about being pandered to and put on a pedestal. It's about selfless sacrifice and duty. You shouldn't need to beg for an emblem...you should just be proud knowing that you stepped up when ithers didn't.

                            • You know who doesn't want their own enblem? Veterans. You know how you can truly honor veterans without resorting to this symbolic horse -blam!-? Enlist. Or... Vote for people who truly support veterans in every stage of their life. Or don't. Most veterans don't really give a -blam!- what you think.

                              • As someone who served, why would I need an emblem?? Did 11 years as a Marine and got medically retired, why would I need an emblem in a video game. It is silly. I am grateful to be alive more than anything.
