Crucible was practically dead before the changes, so your skill gap argument doesn't apply to Destiny. Games don't survive of off the top 5% of the population, they survive because of players who are some in between casual and sweaty af. With what you top guys are suggesting, pvp will end up where they claim it is now. They'd go back cbmm, you'd continue to destroy new/casual/players who just want to play against people of similar skill. They'll continue to depart from pvp all together (they already started leaving before the change) and you then you'll be left with only sweats, long wait times and lag, because only hardcore pvp guys are left, which is what most hardcore guys are complaining about now. If you want pvp to survive in the long run, this needs to happen. I guess Bungie could always put a bigger emphasis on new maps and other content for pvp, but I don't see that happening, so we'll have to go with what's been going on for years.

They start grinding getting their flow next thing you know they good. Now feel my pain lol lol

Can you please explain why SBMM has to be "done to people" that don't want to play like that. There's a whole lot of reasons some people don't want to play like that and its not only top 500 level players. When I play I really don't feel like I'm really even playing the game most of the time. And its to where someone that started playing today and had a minimal amount of fps experience would have a good chance of being considered better than me at the game and get a better experience after about 6 months of playing. I'm sorry, but am I supposed to be happy about that? It was already bad enough with the ridiculously manipulated CBMM last year and now that's not good enough so this. More than anything its really kind of boring because after a while you start to notice how little input you really have when it comes to what's taking place during the matches. A lot of the meta stuff doesn't really match up well with this matchmaking either. Yet another mode with on again off again primary battles and everyone running around with jotunn and bows and fusions. For some people its so blatantly obvious what's going on with that that it just becomes nauseating.

  • team balancing was -blam!-, no argument, but it was actually slightly better than this.

Again, casuals that lack to put in a effort to understand anything saying misinformed/unintelligent things. This is how I know that you’re A, the group I just mentioned or B, a bad player with an ego, begging to be protected from anyone with hand eye coordination. Very frustrating to see y’all be taken seriously and I’m beyond done being respectful about it at this point. Stop killing my game. What this game has is a major community issue that bungie has allowed to fester. I honestly don’t know how they can fix it at this point. So many entitled bad players it’s crazy. Me explicitly saying that the bottom shouldn’t match the top. Me also explicitly saying that pub stomping should be counteracted by matching fireteam sizes. Characters form words when strung together, process them.
Add a matchmaking barrier so that .5s aren’t matching 2.5s. Make three brackets, the bottom, everyone else, and the top. Protect the bottom for the top, that is all. Make it so that bottom tier players aren’t matching pros, but are still matching average and above average players. Some people want to roll through 6v6 shadow thrall all day, that is not me, I rarely ever touch 6v6. I 1-3 stack when I do most of the time.
Stop killing my game.
This is something people on both sides of the scrub/sweat ‘debate’ are saying. The two sides have become teams and we’re supposed to pick the one that makes the Crucible better for ourselves, screw the opposition. When you are being respectful, it’s clear you are looking for compromise and you make very valid points. My advice is, stick with what you think is right for a range of players/skill and avoid contributing to the escalation of conflict. I’m much more interested in reading about ways to improve the Crucible for everybody. It involves compromise. If people are unwilling to compromise, or see things from a different perspective to their own, it undermines everything they’re saying.
