Stormcaller 3.0 is not good; needs buff old

Arc Souls need to jolt enemies when amplified and should get a 40% bump in its damage against PvE enemies

  • Arc soul is fine as is. It’s not supposed to be it’s own thing that can clear rooms by itself. It’s a helper. I’m just asking for a buff to an exotic that doesn’t really have a point anymore.

Stormcaller 3.0 is not good; needs buff - old
Arc soul is fine as is. It’s not supposed to be it’s own thing that can clear rooms by itself. It’s a helper. I’m just asking for a buff to an exotic that doesn’t really have a point anymore.
Tl;dr I’m not disagreeing with your point, but simply pointing out that Arc Souls are bad if they don’t do decent damage, even when amplified. -Yeah and I’m respectfully disagreeing with you. Arc Souls arguably are somehow worse than they were before 3.0, even when amplified the total damage output due to the reduction of damage and the change to the rate of fire doesn’t justify using it in most content other than low light activities in PvE. All the other “soul” utilities on Warlock have a purpose and they do a great job at it without needing to be in high damage, but that’s because they have a purpose. Ex: Stasis turrets do pitiful damage, but that’s fine because they’re very good at slowing/freezing enemies and can be manually placed wherever you want. Child of The Old Gods AKA Void Soul, doesn’t do good damage draining enemies, but again it’s justified because it not only weakens them in a large AoE they also grant either ability haste back to the user or health (depending on which rift you use) and rift energy. Now let’s look at Arc Soul. It’s main mechanic is to hover around your character (and others if they step in your rift) and shoot the enemy right? When amplified it shoots a little bit faster and more accurately correct? So with that being said, it’s fair to make the argument that the main utility of Arc Souls is to deal damage to your enemies right? Then why on Earth does it struggle to kill red bar enemies in low level content? Why does it take two bursts (1 burst removes 85% health of dregs) to fully kill a red bar dreg on its own? Does that make any sense, even when amplified that it cannot even defeat a low tier enemy? No it doesn’t. A single body shot from a 140rpm hand cannon can kill a red bar dreg, yet a magical ball of electric energy can’t do the same? My assessment of Arc Souls this season so far has been “did y’all hear somethin?” Because I really don’t like how unnoticeable it is when I play on Stormcaller. I mean sure “its a helper” but what’s the point of having a helper that can’t even accomplish the same job as a regular sidearm? Now to got back to your original point, yeah I agree the rework to Getaway Artists was definitely a hidden nerf that Bungie tried to tie up with a pretty bow and gift wrap. But hypothetically speaking if Bungie were buff/undo the nerf it still wouldn’t solve one of the big issues surrounding Arc souls which is the lack of meaning in most activities by doing bad damage. Also the 40% is just a baseline ask since Exotic primaries were struggling with a similar issue, and that buff helped them significantly in PvE, so it would be nice if Arc Soul received the same treatment. Anyways thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Alright, I get your point. Arc soul, at least for you, isn’t good at the role it’s supposed to be filling. I disagree. Is arc soul’s damage great? No, not really. But it’s always shooting at enemies whether your sprinting or riding a sparrow. It will stay floating with you during encounters where you need to move around a lot. It will hit crits, break open phalanx shields, and shoot objectives, it will weaken enemies to your left while you kill enemies on your right, it will generate ionic traces when it does get kills. It can essentially be like having a second gun. Sure it won’t kill a yellow bar, but it’s pretty much like having a damage perk on your gun while it’s active. And of course, something big that I completely forgot to mention that both effects my argument for getaway artist’s buff and my defense of arc soul: Everybody on your team can get one by stepping into your rift. Have you ever seen 6 supercharged arc souls shooting at a single target? It’s actually really fun and not bad at all, I’d actually say it’s pretty good. And I kinda had that in my mind when I saw you mention a damage buff as high as 40%.

  • Stasis Turrets and child can't be gifted to your entire fireteam. You can't have up to six childs or stasis turrets supporting your whole team with a single rift. Its uptime is great and it has a good support. Getaway artist literally did not change in any way other than it can also amplify you, but somehow it was nerfed. Nothing was nerfed, Warlocks got a class buff all around, but warlock mains cry every time their class meta changes even 1%
