“Easy mode” in terms of not having to make builds. The insanity in all of this is that our Warlocks are actually MORE powerful if you play WITH the changes rather than fighting them and complaining about them. It’s Solar all over again.
-
The Super (Chaos Reach) kinda sucks, but it's nice being able to blind entire rooms basically on command.
-
If you want to optimize its damage you have to wear GeoMags….
-
Well Geo+ jolting the target before doing the super. But ye.
-
Yep, which is why I've been trying to lean into better neutral game uptime with blind and ionic traces instead of a slight boss damage boost.
-
Yep. That’s how Bungie designed the subclass to be played. The power you want is in the neutral game. Not the super.
-
They'll be ok once they figure out what build crafting is.
-
They’re still just blatantly worse even with build crafting than they were before the 3.0 updates. I wouldn’t mind some of the changes if we didn’t lose the core parts of our builds, but Bungie deemed some of the most important or fun parts of our subclasses unworthy of returning as aspects or fragments.
-
Edited by kellygreen45: 9/1/2022 1:03:11 PMNo they aren’t. They were just powerful-out-of-the-box because Bungie gave you powerful builds to use, requiring little thought or effort from the player. People got used to it, and are mad that it’s now been taken away. You now need to build your power by creatively and thoughtfully using what we’ve been given. Leveraging the available synergies. The build I’m currently running is RIDICULOUSLY more powerful than Arc 2.0. But I’m an experienced buildcrafter from other RPGS, and I’m willing to work with the changes. Instead of digging in my heels, resisting and complaining about them. The Arc Warlock neutral game (properly synergized) is so powerful that I sometimes forget to use my super. But people can’t see the opportunities created by the changes if they’re focused on complaining about them.
-
Alright then, let’s as the question of why literally all of the arc neutral game is located in a single aspect, electrostatic mind. If you decide to run arc soul and the new melee, you get no ability regen, and if you run arc soul and EM, you get to new abilities. It’s worth noting the potency of abilities like arc web and transcendence since it seems like some people forgot the arc web also gave ability energy back on chain lightning damage from any ability. Now, if you want to keep using your abilities, you are locked to one aspect just to utilize nerfed ionic traces. At least in my experience, arc doesn’t feel nearly as bad as Solar, but it doesn’t live up to anywhere near the hype the Bungie sets up when they say their vision was to make warlocks into “lightning shamans.” It needs more synergy than just ionic traces and more ability spam that arc 2.0 did just fine.
-
Ionic trace…and elemental wells. This is where buildcrafting comes in. Being able to see the synergies in the abilities in the toolbox, then make use of them. Bungie warned us that they now see this as part of the skill of playing the game. In my build, when I’m running arc weapons to maximize ionic trace and elemental well production? My abilities have nearly 100% uptime.
-
As I originally said warlocks got use to easy mode.
-
Then explain why every meta in the seasons leading up to the 3.0 nerfs were dominated by hunters and titans.
-
They weren't hahaha
-
Let’s work backward then from now then. Haunted: classy restoration hunters and lorely titans Witch queen: invis hunters, overshield titans, lorely titans Lost: renewal grasp hunters damage resist Splicer: shatter dive hunters Chosen: behemoth Titans and shatter dive hunters Beyond light: warlocks for the first week, then revenant hunters and behemoth titans
-
Devour warlock 4 years constant uptime of healing...... You were saying
-
And it was never meta. A good class does not mean it was ever too dog.
-
Edited by OdinsKnight101: 9/1/2022 7:39:44 AMMeta is a sickness, one that killed the younger Odin and will kill you in time.
-
Good one. I notice when things get tough, all hunters crutch their invisibility and titans fall back to their shotgun melee overshields. Pure easy mode playing those two classes.
-
It will be ok you'll adapt!
